Random deselection of targets
Yea! I especially love it when your down and you have a target with low health targeted and it re-targets another mob (usually with more health). I love that one. Or you have a target selected and it shoots another target that you are further from and aren’t even facing. Awesome.
But hey! We have Quaggan backpack covers so all is good!!!
(^^ That’s me using my “Sarcasm” skill)
This has been an issue for a couple of months alredy. Been pointed out several times, in several threads. Might be related to camera rotation.
Probably too big of a deal to be adressed.
Now we have molten alliance minepicks, so we’re fine.
Sometimes this happens, I constantly end up with a friendly selected too, it’s random. And yes, when downed, my target will switch to a baddie with higher health, it sucks and you die sometimes, but there is no reason to be so snippy about it.
Jaded gamers must remember that there are jaded gamers out there, the people who played non-stop from launch have cleared the content many times over and started complaining that there wasn’t enough content, so they pushed new content. The game was bigger than they expected and has a higher population than originally anticipated… That allows them to find the bugs and limitations… But the jaded gamers keep complaining. Then they complain there aren’t enough vanity items, so they make more… The jaded gamers find something else to complain about “you know, I hate when I’m in the middle of south sun cove and I’m mining that rich ori node (I know, it’s gone now), and I run out of mining picks… Now I have to leave and come back and hope it still has all of its charges left” so what do they do, give you an endless mining pick. But now jaded gamers are unhappy because they made that and didn’t fix every other bug yet. You guys do realize the number of players playing and the number of bugs they could possibly find?! Plus when an exploit pops up, that takes priority! These things don’t just solve themselves, it takes time, energy, and resources, plus testing to be certain it’s fixed. We could’ve been waiting for this awesome game for another year while they tested with millions of players, but even then, would jaded gamers be happy?! Nope! Give them a chance, they’re trying to bring new content for everyone from pve, to pvp, and WvW to keep as many happy as possible. It takes time!
Long story short, it’s a bug, it sucks, quit your sarcasm and stick to the facts. It will be fixed in time.

I found the fanboy.
Hardly a fanboy since I’m a girl and I have my fair share of problems considering I play on the Mac client, but sarcasm isn’t helping find the problem.
In my example, you can see how many things they are working on simultaneously, and if you read the sticky about bug fixes, you can see exactly what I am referring to as far as time. Most peeps barely take the time to read, and even less take the time to write in clear, concise text so that the techies can accurately figure out what most are getting at… And having to sift through sarcasm on top of that just means more time sifting through bs and less time getting the data that’s needed to the people who can fix it.
Not a fan girl, practical!
Not to mention, they have to test these “bugs” and be able to duplicate them before they can even begin to fix them.
Ok, I found the fangirl, then.

Stop complaining about the complainers! :P
I’ve had this issue for a long time as well. I’ve bound keys to target nearest enemy, and also to target next/previous targets. Just a tip to help alleviate it in the meantime.
Double click to interact off, Stop Auto on, Autotargeting off, Promote Target on
For the toast!
I just want sticky targetting.
This issue needed to get fixed asap 7 months ago.
I don’t understand what’s taking so long – granted I know nothing of programming – but this is the ONLY game where I’ve had this happen.
I sometimes end up losing a target or most commonly in dungeons, selecting my group members but i thought it was down to my mouse because it has double clicking issues now and then so when i move the camera and let go it clicks itself and unselects the target, that’s what i assume any way.
I’ve experienced this targeting bug as well, and it is very frustrating.
Most often, I’ve noticed it happening when there is a friendly NPC between the camera and my character and I go to use a skill on my target. I don’t know if the game thinks I’m trying to kill off the friendly NPC or what, but it’s awful.

Off-topic Wall-O-Text posts telling people to make their posts more concise and on-topic are not going to be received well. Your point is valid, just follow your own advice next time.
Meh. Wasn’t going to respond to more sarcasm, but sure, why not. I don’t typically rant about that stuff. Most of my posts may be long, but typically, they are due to details and explanations to help others (note where I say I have the same problem, short and sweet ). I just don’t see the point of saying “this bug is okay, we have x item” it’s just superfluous and unnecessary. Besides, if I was a dev, I might just glaze over this post due to ungrateful sarcasm and help someone who seems truly desperate. But that’s just me. My example was just that… A ranty example. Oh and the quote listed by Vick was actually from a short post.
