Hey people! I am having random drops in fps. My regular fps is 15-20 fps. Whenever the drops happen it goes down to 3-4 fps. It happens at any place I go. There’s no specific area where it won’t happen. I always have to restart the client for everything to be back to normal. The cpu usage is at 24% and memory is at 76%. All of my settings at set to minimum as well. I just don’t get what is happening. Any ideas?

I’ve been getting this as well, going from 40-60fps down to about 10. When it happens it also seems to get stuck playing whatever sound was playing when it started, most new positional sounds don’t work. Also noticed that my GPU temp drops down to about 50c when it happens (about 80c under normal heavy game load)

I was getting that as well, and it’s been getting worse. A reboot seems to help for a while. Maybe it’s memory consumption and not all memory getting freed properly when the game is closed.

Same on Mac, must be a memory leak somewhere.

I’ve had this happen about 6 times in two weeks now, the only tell tale sign I’ll get of it happening is I lose all sound effects but no music, then my fps slowly tanks until I have to relog my pc as it wont force close.

I found one significant cause of lag on my machine: Firefox.

It appeared to be consuming the most memory of any running process, just by having one tab open to watch the world boss timers. I switched to the new browser in Windows 10 (can’t remember what it’s called – Edge?) which has a small memory footprint. My gw2 ran without lag for hours, which is very different from before.
On a PC with sufficient memory this is probably not noticeable, but if you’ve only got about 2.3 GB free as I did when running firefox, that seems to cause a bit of lag.

(This isn’t an endorsement of Windows 10 or it’s browser – there’s plenty of annoyances there. Using any browser with a small memory footprint would do the job.)
