When I am on my ranger and stand over the 1200 range (eagle eye trait) the skill 1 will not continue to auto attack. Can this be adjusted to a 1500 range?

From day 1 of live I noticed this as well. Very annoying.
I’ve also noticed the ‘cease auto-attack’ range issue for any distance weapon (pistol, rifle, bow, mesmer greatsword, scepters, blah, blah, blah). Ranger’s short bow Skill #1 (default auto-attack) has a max range of 1200, but if you are between 900/1000 and 1200 you have to manually fire your weapon even though it is on auto-attack. I’ve just gotten so used to having to constantly hit my Skill #1 fire button all the time, despite it being on auto-attack, due to it constantly stopping to auto-attack at that range, as well as due to random untargeting issues, stopping auto-attack when I get rooted, stopping auto-attack when I dodge, stopping auto-attack when I drop a trap, and just generally unexplained and random occurrences of auto-attack stopping. I don’t even acknowledge this game as even having an auto-attack anymore due to all the bugs associated with it that prevent it from working most of the time.

+1 to this too! Sick of being hit by target’s out of ranger. When my Ranger is traited for extra range.

I think you all just can’t judge the distance (lack of interface informations …).

The issue appears with most projectiles since they don’t disappear at their max range. So with the ranger you can shoot up to ~1350 on even grounds even with a 1200 range, because the arrow will continue its course and hit the enemy’s feet. But at that range, the bow will not autoattack, since it’s not “safe” to use.

Instead of requesting a +autoattack range, I’d prefer a common fix for all projectile attacks with this behaviour to have their projectile vanish at the max range. Meaning, you can’t hit a mob in 1201 range, even when facing down.

look at the red bar beneath your skill. If there is one, you’re further than the skills “max” range.
