Ranger One-handed Sword Dodge Issue

Hi all,
I wanted to start by saying I love the ranger 1 handed sword and how we hop at our targets as we auto attack and frankly it is really fun to watch. That combined with 2 and 3’s dodges/poison I really want to love this weapon and make it an important part of my ranger.
BUT the auto attack is making it darn near impossible to strafe around the target with out pressing 2 or 3 or waiting for the sec you are not mid jump.
And the bigger issue we cant dodge on command with out once again using 2 or 3 which both have a bit of a delay on them or at least 2 does or waiting for the jump animation to be over.
Is there any way to make dodge and strafe interrupt the jump animation? I love the sword but I am struggling to avoid damage with how it is at the moment. Most the time by the time I can finally dodge it is too late. And I am pretty sure dodge interrupts most other animations as it should always take priority.
Is this working as intended? Can it be fixed w/o disabling auto attack which save my button and my thumb a work out?
