Ranger Pet Names
This has been an issue since Beta. They do not reset on your two active pets, but if you switch any active pet out for another in your vast pocket menagerie, then it will reset.
is there any kind of workaround?
Not really. Pick two pets you like a lot and stick with them, Only switch out one pet so you only have to reset one name at a time.
Not really a work around, but if you wanna keep a name on an amphibious type pet when storing, name them, and make sure they’re in one of your two underwater pet slots. They’ll keep the name even if they’re not your active land pet, so long as they’re in an underwater slot.
I assume it works the other way around too, but I haven’t tried.
For the toast!
There is apparently no work around for this problem. I can’t tell you how many times I’ve had to “fix” a name on a pet I already named. Every single time I swap out pets for my set, I have to rename them.
I’ve bugged this in game and I still have not heard anything about a fix for this problem. Very frustrating…why have a naming option if it does not work?
This is one of those simple fixes (really, it can’t be more than a basic string list, can it?) that I can’t understand lingering for this long. Isn’t there a junior coder on staff that is assigned the trivial cleanup stuff? Hmm…well, since day one no one’s even bothered to fix the text error on most chef consumables (it’s not +10XP it’s +10%XP…seriously, a five second fix). Polish makes things look much more professional with relatively little effort, why ignore such things? But I digress.
Simple work-around: just start liking names like “Juvenile Brown Bear”. I honestly doubt this will ever get fixed. Not after being reported over and over again during and after betas. Such an obvious and annoying flaw.
Ha…just got an email from support suggesting I use the in game bug report or use the forum for bug reporting. Obviously they never read my report…where I said I had already submitted an in game report and the game bug forum.
