Ranger laurel box giving non-ranger gear [Merged]
New build went live, no fix. Anet could care less?

Wow, no news on this bug or a fix.
Will the people(me being one of them) that bought a ranger gear get any compensation for how long this bug is taking to fix?.
Until then I continue to wait patiently.
Double posting in hopes of someone mainly a Dev reading it. What I don’t understand is. There is a nice little login screen in which they could tell people “Hey! Don’t buy the Ranger Gearboxes! They don’t work! They aren’t fixed yet!”. Anet used the login screens to tell the community what was up in GW1, why cant they now?

They need to stop people buying them or at least change the message to this item is bugged please do not purchase, We need to give them time to fix it, save your laurels their could be a lot of Rangers with the endless mystery cat tonic.
We have to understand that they cant answer all the time that takes man hours away from fixing the problem.
I am just as kitten off as all the rest of the Ranger characters that this has affected but imagine how massive this game is and how small their staff level are in respect to that.

I opened one before the fix got screwed dont ask for compo think back to when it really mattered with the one time only event that was a call for comp and they answered it this is not its only 5 days work not a one time event.

I agree with Radio Isotope.3045 that this should be posted in the news area.
I haven’t been playing much since this has happened and it would be nice if i didn’t have to wait through the game loading time just to check if boxes can open and then log back out.
Sure I can check here but It’s not like there are Devs giving daily updates.
these should have been made not purchasable,, my ranger will be fully geared before i ever get the chance to open these,, just threw away those laurels…
I can’t believe this has been so long. If they are unable to fix the problem why can’t we return it to the vendor and get our laurels back? I am not really interested in acquiring the gear anymore. Would rather get the crafting materials
Indeed my ranger is now fully geared and the Laurel box doesn’t mean anything to me now. Why would I want to risk the chance of not getting an exotic, when my ranger is now fully geared out in exotics. Seems like a waste of Laurels now. I’d rather have the Abyss dye by now from getting the 10 dyes than this gearbox.

Apparently this now affect thieves as well. I just purchased Laurel boxes from the vendor in LA and am getting the same error. This is pretty bad guys. I like the game overall and think that you guys do a great job of adding content, but this is just really, really bad.
As I said earlier, disable usage of the kit was the best thing we can do that wouldn’t involve a content change. Currently, content updates are on a monthly basis, to give our QA team time to go over any changes. Obviously, we do make mistakes like this bug, but we’re hoping that with the slower update schedule we can consistently put out much better updates. Your patience is appreciated, and I’m sorry for the wait.

How will we know when it’s fixed? Should I just keep checking back here, or will it be announced in some other way? I bought two boxes without realizing they were bugged.

Short answer, an exploit that puts the game’s economy at risk, or a crash bug, does take a higher priority. Also, the BLTC uses a totally different system for setting what’s for sale/prices, etc. so it’s not really a fair comparison to in-game merchants.

So what you’re saying is that 3 weeks is an acceptable time period to not only not fix a bug, but not even warn the player base of it’s existence, thus perpetuating the problem each day? I get that it’s not gamebreaking, but just a line of text somewhere to keep people from getting screwed would’ve been nice.
As it stands. 3 weeks is more than enough time to obtain a full set of crafted exotic gear. I guess I’m just waiting to open the box and crossing my fingers for ectos.
Another annoyed customer here. A warning on the log in page seems so obvious that I feel somewhat insulted by Anet at this point, especially after three weeks without a fix.
