Reporting bugs seems to crash my game...
That is quite interesting … Bugging the bug-report function
It’s happened to me again! I guess no one else has had trouble with this, but it really does seem to be linked because the only times my game has crashed have been right after sending a bug report.
I don’t understand how that could cause my game to crash. Maybe someone at Arenanet doesn’t like me.

That I doubt. But I do agree…it’s an interesting bug.
I had this happen ONCE on my hubs pc after filing a bug report. The game crashed and took me to a screen to tell arenanet what I was doing at the time of the crash. His game client/comp has never crashed before that on gw2.
This happened just the other day too.
So now I’m not sure if this is a game bug or a tech issue, but we’ve gotten no response either way. This is an issue for both pc and Mac, but the crash is more severe on the Mac.
To duplicate the crash (my findings):
File a bug report on a character, then hit esc to close any open panels on screen, hit esc again and choose logout, once on character select screen, quickly double-click to log onto a new character and voila, instant crash.
On pc, you get an option to send a report to Anet, then it closes the game recovering the system.
On Mac, the graphics will freeze (character idle movement stops), the music will continue to play until the end, the mouse will still be active. However, you can never leave this state, option+command+escape does not force quit, using the x does not close, cannot open any panels on the menu screen, command+tab doesn’t work, pressing the power button does not bring up the restart/shutdown/sleep dialogue box. The fans do spin down and system resource usage seems to return to the normal state while in this condition (according to external temp, fan sounds).
The only fix to recover on Mac is to hold the power button until a complete shut down occurs. Then restart.
The only way to avoid it, is to wait after submitting it, close each panel slowly, and don’t log out immediately… Wait!
I’m truly hoping someone could re-create this scenario and confirm it so that it can be fixed. I’ve done it multiple times on both PC and Mac.
Thanks for taking the time to review this.
