Resonating Fragments (Scribe)
Bump.
Still no way to get these.
Got a resonating sliver from completing a guild mission, and it says “earned by completing guild missions.” Hope that helps.
Resonating Sliver is not what is missing. It’s the upgrade to that – the Resonating Fragment.
Thanks though!
Bumpity. Scribes still not able to level.
Bumping. Scribes are STILL not available in Guild Wars 2 properly.
In a similar note; for the Festival Pavilions there is a Bolt of Embroidered Silk. Has anybody found this yet?
water?! -tonyajc.2618
i still need this, also bolts of embroided silk are still missing
The Resonating Fragment recipe is still missing, this sorta blocks the progression of the Scribe profession.
This was posted 5 days ago, bumped a few times, and STILL no anet response? I’m curious how to get these also, and while they’re at explaining this, can they also explain why ALL of the different writs give the same +40 power buff?
BUMP FOR GREAT JUSTICE
Still not fixed it appears :/
ANET PLIS FIX
PLIS
Resonating Fragments
Tub of Wood Glue
Bolts of Embroidered Silk
anything else missing?
Bag of Mortar is supposed to be avaliable from the master scribe but isnt
I like how the ceramic planter needs a Basic Finishing Kit (tier 2) to make and the its used to make an item needing a Simple Finishing Kit (tier 1) ie: the potted plants
Still not fixed. You’d think this would be an easy one.
Still doesnt appear to be working. Anyone figure this out?
Bump! Still no info on this.
Yes, the lack of a recipe for Resonating Fragments is one of the major issues with the Scribe crafting discipline at the moment.
Then there is the bug with guild mission rewards. How are we supposed to get a sufficient amount of Resonating Slivers if some guild missions do not even give personal rewards to the majority of the participating players?
And even if the upgrade ratio from Slivers to Framents is just 1:1, a small guild is heavily restrained to crafting only a handfull of items per week even at this low crafting level. But knowing ANet I’m afraid it will be at least 2:1 or worse
Also, the material costs for some things are quite unbalanced. As a small guild we are currently unable to get the Decorations Trader 1 simply for lack of Coarse Sand. Maybe the developers should keep in mind that players do not have dev commands available to simply create materials. Do you really consider it fun to spend hours/days in Dry Top or Silverwastes just to farm Dust Mites and Twisters for sand?
Same for pigments. Currently, the only relyable source for pigments is dyes since pigment output from plant nodes is almost nonexsistant. Which is why prices for brown dyes exploded on the TP.
I understand that the TP economy is quite chaotic at the moment and will become stable at some point, but I have the feeling that the level it will stabilize on for dyes will be rather high.
I also noticed that T2 Ink not only requires its own (red) pigment, but also the T1 Ink. If this system continues throughout the different tiers, then the T6 Ink will require 10 each of six different pigments. The idea behind this seems obvious: the value for each pigment color will be roughly the same once everybody has reached L400 Scribing. But again, with dyes as almost exclusive source for pigments this will put even the basic dyes at a relatively high price level.
As a result, e.g. WvW Upgrades and Tactics will end up being very costly. How are smaller WvW guilds supposed to handle those costs with (financial) WvW rewards being another thing that is basically nonexsistant?
All in all I have to conclude that a) the Scribe has been neither fully implemented nor material-wise balanced yet and b) the whole guild system is not oriented on guilds of 10 people (as ANet claimed) but rather 100+.
So I’d say the following changes should be considered:
- implementing Scribe crafting beyond level 125/150
- increasing pigment output from plant nodes significantly
- decreasing amount of pigment used per ink
- reducing the sand cost for sand paper and/or increasing the sand output from fine sand
- fixing guild mission rewards
- increasing Sliver rewards from guild missions
- adding Resonating Fragments/Cores/Lodestones to the reward table for guild missions (Cores just from medium/hard difficulty, Lodestones only from hard difficulty)

For great Justice.
Seriously though. Banner supplies are getting low and this bug actively prevents creating more banners.
Why haven’t we heard a peep about this arenanet?

Beginning to think this was intentional to stop us grinding it out and to create a buffer of Slivers from the initial Guild Missions. When I contacted support they wouldn’t acknowledge it was a bug. Frustrating.

If it is in fact not a bug, and we’re expected to discover a recipie for it, it would be nice to get red name confirmation of this so we can stop treating it like one and spreading misinformation that scribing is broken.
I mean hey, just tell me “the recipie exists, but it needs to be discovered” and I’ll be a happy camper.

Ontop of these said issues, I have noticed that:
-You cannot craft linseed oil as a scribe
-Decorations are scaled way too steeply. (At 125 you can craft yellow balloons, yet need a white balloon. To buy a white balloon your guild needs to be level 35)
-Linen rope still costs 200 fibers. While the supply bag got dropped to 25 from 250.
Admittedly, they are minor annoyances but inb4kittenstorm.
My pugs are not lemmings, they just fell off that cliff because I did
My 2 cents on this thread:
1) scribe crafting is insanely expensive –
2) Items for level advancement appear to be missing
3) No response from the devs.
My take is that this is all correct! Although done at the personal level, the profession itself is for the benefit of the guild, guild activities, and guild hall – with some of the items essentially becoming permanent additions to your and your guildies ‘instance’. As such I’m not surprised that these items and level advancement would deliberately be made expensive and difficult to obtain. My take is also that anet does not want to see L400 scribes anytime soon and the way to do that is by what I"ll call hidden gating with particular bottlenecks in production of items – and in turn – leveling.
If you notice – putting your mouse cursor over the reson in the production window tells you that * the shard is crafted by the scribe* yet you can’t (as of yet anyway) seem to craft or produce the shard. The resonating ‘sliver’ (which inuituvely should lead to production of the fragment) is not accepted in the discovery window nor is anet acknowledging any ‘error’.
So -if this is as it should be (which appears to be the case) some possible guesses here:
1) We need more resonating slivers – perhaps a lot of them – then a double-click will produce/ advance them (as was the case with the mordrem and evergreen slivers to make the respective shards/cores/lodestones)
2) As guild scribes advance – the system will ‘see’ that and award players slivers and/or shards with the guild mission completions
3) There are higher level vendors yet to be unlocked – Level 2 Vendor when I looked at the text I took note of the fact that it will sell some random items ‘related to crafting’. A further search did NOT let me see what those random crafting items might be.
4) The overall Guild level might have to reach some arbitrary level prior to a ‘recipe’ simply appearing for the scribe to use to produce the shards (after all – we are seeing other things tied to Guild level – AND I note that crafting for the scribe is limited to the guild hall .
5) There may be a recipe that needs to be unlocked/found at a vendor somewhere within the game that now carries that new recipe.
6) Does the fragment need production by some other means (ie: Mystic Forge)
I can go on with other ideas – and perhaps the scribe crafting is in fact bugged/ broken – BUT – if there is no response from the devs then I think that we need to take their non-answer AS an answer ( and my gut says that they are perversely enjoying the frustration that we see here!) – Good luck fellow scribes~

1) I have over 100, can’t click them.
2) I am the highest Scribe can get to at the moment, not recieving higher level item.
3) I will pop this upgrade when I log on. See if I get anything. (Unless someone already has this vendor upgrade and can save me doing it!)
4) Guild is level 20 currently, anyone else higher that could comment on this?
5) Possible, but why not advertise it? Hmmmm.
6) Tried to forge them, they won’t go in.
Just work already kitten it

My scribe is 130, my guild is level 22. I could go to 140, but I don’t see the point. I’m unable to make fragments (double click, discovery, mystic forge — none show anything). More generally, if someone could make resonating fragments, I think they’d be for sale on the trading post. This seems like a bug, I just wish it’d be acknowledged.
has anyone upgraded the workshop to L2 to see if somehow the crafting station and vendors need to “level up”?
This would be highly irregular behavior (which the game in no way clues you in to) but it would make some sense.
We’re still all in tents chasing l1 upgrades, but it had occured to me. I’m sure one of you has a L2 workshop to test the theory right?

L2 Workshop/Vendor did not resolve this issue
It would really be nice to get some sort of red name comment on this issue.

Well, now there’s one for sale on the trading post, so there’s clearly a way to make them … or get them via drops, not sure which.
I had assumed that they were being added with the raid patch so that may be what happened
For Great Justice! Bump.
