Until last patch the gate in the Royal Terrace led to the Vigil HQ when you chose the option “Lion’s Arch”. Now the gate leads really to Lion’s Arch.

That is inconvenient because I need to go to the Vigil HQ because of another inconvenience of the Royal Terrace: There is no activity NPC.

Please restore the status quo ante and let the gate lead to the Vigil HQ for the time that the general hub of the game is situated there.

(Or, wishful thinking, install an activity NPC in the Royal Terrace)

Note: I circumvent it by now with teleporting to Rata Sum, then to “Lion’s Arch”. That will lead me to the Vigil HQ. But that is another loading screen and one of the attractions of the Royal Terrace was the reduction of loading times…

Yeah this happens to me as well when I try to go to Vigil HQ from Royal Terrace. It doesn’t even make sense because there isn’t even a portal inside of Lion’s Arch that it portals me to – it’s just a random area in the middle of LA.

I circumvent it by just using the standard gate to LA from DR, but that kind of defeats the point of having a gate in the convenience area. The area the terrace gate drops you in is just outside Traders Forum, the same location you used to be dropped out at from the Obsidian Sanctum exit and when leaving the Mad King’s Realm. At the moment that’s kind of pointless as LA is a post-disaster ghost town.

Having an activity NPC at the Royal Terrace instead of having to go to Vigil Keep would be perfect (as the alternate-area-but-same-concept airship has one included even though there’s another publicly accessable one right near its exit), but I primarily enjoyed the convenience of reaching the Ft. Trinity gate easily for hopping down to Orr for my lemongrass and cayenne pepper runs. Heck, it was easier to hop asura gates to get to Orr from the terrace during the attack after everything was redirected to Vigil Keep than before LA was wrecked as you used to have to waypoint after entering LA to get to an order HQ unless you felt like walking. I don’t expect that “feature” of using a gate to LA to be permanent, but it’s nice while it lasts.

It sounds kind of petty, but I paid 1000 gems for convenience and making the gate less convenient than the free LA gates so I need to hop a waypoint to get to one seems kind of… backwards.

I experienced the original poster’s bug yesterday, but have had many other porting bugs into Lion’s Arch since the Escape From Lion’s Arch patch went live. I frequently got ported to Lion’s Arch just inside the Bloodtide Coast portal when trying to come in using the Asura Gate at the Priory. I also have been ported to the same place when trying to enter from Gendarren Fields. Once I tried to enter from Bloodtide Coast and wound up just inside the portal from Gendarren Fields.
