Q:
Over the past several days I have noticed that while I’m auto-attacking a mob with my Ranger that I will randomly lose my target and just stop attacking. I’m not targeting something else by miss-clicking my mouse because I have done that a few times. I just lose the target and have to re-target the mob or some other mod using the [TAB] key.
On a similar note, I also randomly lose my target I’m attacking if I rotate my camera around and look behind me causing the mob I’m attacking to move off the screen.

This is the way the “Autotargetting” option works. It will change your target if you have a better one in-view.

To change this behavior, check the “Promote Skill Target” option — “Automatically promote targets to lock targets when hitting them.”

You could also use the “Lock Autotarget” key in your Control Options, though it is not set by default — “Hold to lock your autotarget.”
