STEALTH BUG after Patch
We will have to play with this for a loooonnnnngg time, severly broken thief skills take a looonnnng time to fix, months, years even.
My guess is they patched in HoT test files accidentally and repeatedly….
To quote the dev: Thieves tend to QQ […] well QQ harder…
I’m gonna call BS on this being a bug. If it was, anet could have used their backed up file to fix it. It’s most likely disabled for reasons unknown.
Edit: aka stealth/revealed thing is a red herring that made seen as a ‘bug’ where some things are getting tested because reasons.

They kitten up a class , the thief is the more vulnerable of gw2 , with the minor pool of life dont have any skill to be invelnerable and the only defense is the stealth and is not a defense if the player simple attack in the area he take the same damage , and now thief is useless , so kitten up , sorry i m not go more play gw2 ,;D
Figure if they don’t fix this soon, its time to go play my warrior or engie. The fact that it has been this long is a problem.
Did you guys hire monkeys as developper ?
How can you break something you didnt bring any modifications to for months by doing nothing ?
Sames goes for WvW… when you gonna understand that the only people in that game that are buying gems to transfer are the one playing WvW maybe you’ll consider putting some interest in the mode.

Insulting the devs is a bad idea. You dont know they didnt do anything either, they have been adding pieces of HOT into the game slowly so something they added there might have broken this.
Stealth traps, revealed from ranger, engineer and guardian, and now this “bug”.
Certainly, I think this is a test that would be set…
I play only thief, and I think that you are destroying this class if you are doing this.
What do you have against thieves Anet? Thieves are the most nerfed class of all game.
Now tell me, how can you win a necromancer with 50k hp that using his 1 attack on shroud damages thief with 5-6k life? Tell me pls!!
Good afternoon guys.
I’m forming a squad for doing kitten things to kittens in case they’re planning on revealing us even when we don’t engage. If you’d like to participate, PM me.
Kittens will suffer if you do this Grouch, YOU HEAR ME!
I don’t PvP or WvW. But I do roam around SW and hit up the Labyrinth and defend VW carriers, and my Shadow Refuge is an integral part of all that. I have never done “permastealth” and don’t even know how; I sure hope this current two second limit on staying hidden gets fixed.
btw, it’s actually 3s in pve/wvw >.<
Probably Anet wanted to add a “revealed” buff every time stealth ends. With no matter how you end your stealth – hit or just timed out. This is ok to destroy pvp perma stealth but there is no need to ruin SR or blast stacking. Last 2 things are not so OP. I think its a bug with them.
The change to revealed everytime stealth ends is a very positive one. The problem is that stacking stealth doesn’t work, so SR evidently doesn’t work well either. This needs a middle ground. Reduce the amount of stealth you can stack (but at least more than once) and keep the revealed as it is.
Perma stealth and/or the lame turtling in battles is gone. Now stealth has a soft counter.

An actual Permastealth build does little damage and has limited utility beyond staying in stealth, and this mechanic would not affect it at all (after bug fix) even if revealed was actually added after you come out of stealth. That mechanic would nerf the constant CND though. I could go for a 1s long reveal when stealth ends, but not 3s.
As for stacking stealth, you can only do so 4 times prior to this bug.

Of course you wouldn’t be able to. You wouldn’t be able to stack 4 times, and after stacking two, you would get revealed afterwards regardless whether you attacked or not. Hence, why perma stealth wouldn’t be the case any longer. Also, by ‘perma stealth’ I mean the act of resetting fights by stacking stealth constantly until enough health is regain unpunished, or whether you opted for an unconterable retreat or just easily repositioning after whittling down your enemies CDs.
All in all, it would be a significant shift in battle strategies with the inclusion of at least some counters to the stealth meachanic which is extremely strong in its current state in this game. This could come along significant buffs to thieves when out of stealth.

Resetting a fight isn’t only done by thieves, and you don’t have to stealth to do so, just look at warriors >.>
I wouldn’t be surprised if they wait until next week during the elite- specialization stream to “fix” this, and reintroduce the stealth fix as a “buff”. They just want to use this time now and the feedback from the general population to see whether or not to actually go through with this. So it’s a (trial and error) sort of deal. But hey that’s my opinion.
None the less if you’re a t1 skilled Thief Fix or no fix you’ll be able to adapt, thus still being able to kill.
Edit: I also won’t be surprised if they magically revert the 4s pvp reveal back to its normal 3s with the upcoming fixes and elite specialization introductions

As in the way it worked before, as it was supposed to prior to the bugged situation, which was announced in the update yesterday.
