Salvage All doesn't advance Agent of Entropy

Hmmm, I have got the max amount of AP from this achievement a long time ago so now it’s just spam anytime I get the message of the achievement pop up. I am almost tempted to ask you to not fix this bug lmao!
It would be nice to simply just have an option to hide that message once the max AP has been gained or simply for the game to realise it and not display it.
Salvage all does not count for “Agent of Entropy” credit original lame salvage does still count.
Known bug. Devs have reported that they are working on it. (No estimated date for a fix.)
I couldn’t find a proper topic for this issue in the in-game bug report, I’m not even sure this is a bug, and not an intended functionality, but here goes:
The newly introduced automatic salvaging does not progress the corresponding “Agent of Entropy” achievement, so in order to earn progress the players have to manually salvage their items.
It’s a known bug (I think one of the devs responded to this in the recent AMA — you can check Dulfy for a summary, in case I or someone else doesn’t add a direct link soon).
No estimated time for the fix — I’m guessing not soon, since it’s somehow completely bypassing one of the mechanics.

Oh no problem — I thought there was an existing thread; if there was, I didn’t see it either. Definitely mentioned on Reddit; I don’t expect most people see those, though.

The Known Issue Tracker is unfortunately named. It’s really the Manually Curated Issue Tracker, meaning everything on it is a copy/paste+rephrase from their issue tracker and updated manually, as the person who decided to create it has time. (Bugs that they track tend to use language that is helpful to people trying to fix things; for players, not usually understandable).
That translates to: lots of issues important to core groups of players don’t get a listing, lots of issues get fixed before they get noted. It’s a good place to start, but it doesn’t describe more than a small fraction of what they are tracking.
Anyhow, I mentioned it was ‘known’ so that we could all go from waiting patiently for ANet to acknowledge the issue to waiting patiently for it to be fixed.
As great as the new “Salvage All” feature is, I just noticed that salvaging this way does not count towards the Agent of Entropy repeatable achievement.
It’s a known bug (there was a response on reddit from ANet…and maybe here too). See also:

The new 11/10 salvage all doesn’t add to the Achivement – Agent of Entropy.

Just adding that is annoying to get the pop up after you have completed the achievement. Please stop.
Actually the bug has been reported already, and they are working on a fix. Not sure when it’ll be released though.

For the love of god, keep the bug in place. I hate seeing Agent in my 3 closest achievements to completion.
Today i noticed that the Achievement “Agent of Entropy” doesnt increment when the “salvage all” option is used on the salvage kits.

It’s been noted by the devs. There’s no estimated date for a fix — my guess is that the “salvage all” has its own set of code that bypasses that of the salvage kits (why? might just have been 100 times easier to start from scratch, to avoid unintended results). So fixing it will require merging some convoluted code, being careful to avoid doing something by accident.
tl;dr ANet knows about it; don’t expect a fix toon™.
As the title says, the salvage all option does not add to the Agent of Entropy achievement. The old ‘click each’ still count. Not a game braking bug, but annoying.
Bless whoever designed the “Salvage all Rares/Masterwork/Fine items and lower” option, but currently if it is used instead of double clicking and then going one item at a time, none of these salvages count toward the Agent of Entropy achievement. I reported this in game iirc, but putting here for anyone who works on achievement points to be aware. I don’t think this was intended to work this way. (?)
It’s an issue that ANet is aware of and is working on a fix for. It was reported on the bug forums the day that the quarterly patch was released. It has not made it’s way to the “Known Issue Tracker” page yet.

i just realized you dont get any achievement progress in “Agent of Entropy” if you use the new salvage all function. Normal oldschool salvaging still grants normal progress.

Like a lot of forums, the search function here is… underwhelming. (3rd party tool — the “third party” is no longer working with ANet, so it’s unlikely to be updated)

I was salveging my loot when i found out that if you select salvege all option on the salvege kit the agent of entropy achievement doesn’t not work only if you salvege one by one. I don’t think this is intended because the option to salvege all is new please fix this so we won’t lose more achievement points.
