Using salvage kits in heart of the mists does not work towards monthly achievements. After leaving heart of the mists the salvage kit works. I used it on a full bag of stuff before I noticed.

I don’t think costume brawling contributes to achievements (daily or the community one), either.

The mystic forge in HotM never used to contribute to dailies, and was fixed in some patch last summer.

While it’d be nice to get a fix for this, at least the monthly salvage is very easy to get even if you don’t play very frequently!

Were you using PvP salvage kits? As I think they count. But, usually, PvE stuff doesn’t count in PvP.

It all may become moot in about two weeks, though.
