So I have divinity runes in armor that cannot be salvaged- Armor bought with gold and WvW badges. Now that ascended is possible I want them for new armor. After transmuting one of these armor pieces with a white item (stats and appearance white, the only thing from the WvW armor I kept in the melding was the rune) it still won’t allow salvaging. Is this bugged? If not a bug, why wouldn’t it be allowed for the recovery of high end runes or sigils, there’s nothing being gained from this salvage other than a rune/sigil back for the cost of a transmutation crystal. Not cheap but still less than the cost of a new divinity rune.

If this is a bug, please fix. If this isn’t a bug, please allow it! Please, please, please and thank you for your consideration of this issue.

Buying new divinity runes is cheaper.

You can also just use a trans crystal keeping the ascended look and stats but keep the rune from the exotic.

It sounds like you’ve run into another old problem.
The white armor you can buy from the NPC armorsmith can be sold on the TP but it is also not salvageable. Those armors shouldn’t be tradeable since it is basically impossible to tell the good from the bad.

I won’t be using the armor again, it is exotic and soul bound and I only want the runes to put into new ascended armor. Also, the cost of one use of the extractor is more than a divinity rune from the tp. What I want is the rune, I don’t need or want the armor anymore because I’m upgrading it. Transmuting with the ascended would work if for the same pc, but I also have some of these runes I’d like to use for alts.
