“Obtaining a legendary should be done through legendary feats…
Not luck and credit cards.”
I created a thread not so long ago (a month or a bit more) and left it in the Bug forum, and I can’t find it in my post history. Anyway I posted about how ridiculous the lag was for Sanctum Sprint for around checkpoint 5. All the aerial moves/jumps are at the mercy of such high lag that it’s unplayable.
It’s been like this for the past few months now, and while I could finish it (once upon a time), now it’s in the hands of lag as to whether or not I finish it. I know most people won’t have an issue getting from one part of the activity to the other, but for people with high pings (Oceanics in particular), it’s not a fun experience. It’s incredibly frustrating that lag should destroy what was once a fun activity that most people could enjoy.
I just noticed this today. Have not done the activity in forever, but today was daily activity so I gave it a try. With an Oceanic ping the number 3 auto-jumps to the beacon were failing about 90% of the time, from the point you are talking about onwards. It would overshoot each time it failed.
So yeah…the activity is completely unplayable now.
Also, NSW had to cheat to win Origin.
It’s not impossible. You either need to move off the #3 skill launch pad, so you can manually target the #3 skill. Or you use a combination of #1 skill and #2 skill, cancelling the #2 at the right moment. (Or you can make sure you’re coming last, to maximise your chances of getting the #10 skill and then skip the bad parts.) Doing either of these does take a bit of practice, though, and having to use them pretty much destroys your chances of winning. But it is possible to finish.
And yes, obviously it needs to be fixed. But the same problem was/is in Dry Top and Lab Cliffs, which are presumably higher priorities, and they haven’t done anything much about it there.

I tried everything, every trick you just mentioned there… I had to get real crafty to try to make my way over to the landing zone, but ultimately it’s the lag that gets you in the end no matter what you try, and it’s not something you can pre-empt either, there’s no ‘tell’ for when a lag spike is gonna hit you.
As if the game mechanics weren’t bad enough when rapidly transporting a toon from one part of a map to the other, it seems the dev’s didn’t factor in the poor suckers with high pings.
The lightning jump was always at the mercy of lag ever since it was introduced.
Hell, even when the spinning launch discs pads were introduced before all these fancy moves, there were problems.
I just hope these gliders in HoT don’t suffer from the same problems.

Now that’s a very depressing possibility
That #3 skill lag really ruin this activity…..
Just did Sanctum Sprint. It is pretty bad. But still possible.
And what’s your ping like?
And what’s your ping like?
From Australia as well. So you tell me.
Yep, in Australia, same problem. Sanctum Sprint was one of my favorite minigames. Now it’s unplayable.
And what’s your ping like?
I’m +1 -ing you because I really, really like your sig
But to answer your q – I’m pretty confident my ping is always terribad lol… I think my real irritation with this is that I used to have no problem with the #3, but now I do, since around megaserver introduction time; would that have any effect on it? If not, then what’s changed? Very odd.
Tried this jump about 8 times and kept getting shot over the platform and falling in the water. Even standing to the side and aiming manually my character didn’t stay on the platform but slid off the edge at the last minute. At least three people passed me and didn’t seem to have any problems. Finally made it with about 20 seconds of race time left. Not sure if this is really a big deal, but now there’s a thread if others are having this problem, too…
(Pointless post in merged thread is pointless.)

It’s a real shame that Sanctum Sprint is still basically unplayable seemingly with a moderately high latency (~280 ms).
I hope it gets fixed. Because it looks a lot of fun, and would be, if it worked as intended.
Australia same problems. Mentioned it and posted about it before. Sanctum Sprint was once my favorite activity, but now it’s unplayable for me.
Sanctum sprint used to work fine, but not for the past year. Complete waste of time now. My ping hasn’t changed. What does ping have to do with an automatic lightning pull placing you at a predetermined target location? I simply cannot see how they could get it so wrong when it used to work fine.
