Hello, i have a question about ingredients that are needed to craft exotic set of armor.
I bought a recipe for Satchel of Rampager’s Emblazoned Armor and it says that i need a lot more materials to craft full set of armor than if i would craft it normal way ( craft each item of set ). It cost even more because i need to buy a not-so-cheap recipe from Mystic Forge. So my question is : What is the purpose of crafting satchels then??

PS. I did some math to Exotic Satchel ( 400 leatherworking ) and Noble Satchel ( 350 leatherworking ) and even for Noble Armor is a bit cost ineffective because it cost the same amount of materials + recipe from Mystic Forge.

Also interested in this. Seems to be it must be a bug or what is the point of doing this? (besides stupidly wasting your mats in the forge to get the recipe and then to make the satchel)

why did you create a recipe if it’s just twice more expansive for the same result ?

Seriously, the most expensive item for craft each item is the insignia.
if you want to craft each item directly, you need 6 insignia (one per item).
but if you want to craft the recipe of the Satchel and use it, you need 12 insigna (1 to get recipe and 11 for craft the satchel) …

And this is exactly the same stuff !

Well, a couple weeks ago I was making a set for a friend, and I did the math on Satchel of Knight’s Exalted Armor, and the mats came out exactly the same. More correctly: gw2db said that making the pieces separately would cost 4 extra leather squares, but when I did so (I didn’t actually have the satchel recipe), I had 4 left over, so one of the items is off by 4 squares, but the total I actually used exactly matched the satchel.
