Sclerite karka shell, mystic forge
Transmuted items are new items. Most mystic forge recipes don’t work anymore after transmuting an item.
It depends on how you transmuted it I believe. If you took the skin of the karka back and put on different stats I believe it won’t work.
If you took the karka back and put a quaggan ::shiver:: skin on it then it should still work, but will revert back to the karka skin once upgraded.

No. There are no fixes, because it isn’t a glitch. The nature of transmuting is to take the image of one and the properties of another. By using the stone, you discarded the properties that makes it a “Sclerite karka shell”

The only “fix” is to get a different asceded backpiece and use a transmutation crystal to transfer the skin again.
That will only waste another ascended item. Transmuting it again will not make the shell’s original properties come back.

I was working under the assumption that the poster transmuted the stats from a different item because they were more desirable than the original karka back stats but wanted to retain the skin. Perhaps more just desiring having the infusion slot.
In any case there is no way to upgrade the karka shell in its current state.
so i could get a Fractal capacitator, make it ascended, and then transmute ?

Only thing I’ll mention is that if you want to infuse that capacitor later you will be able to but will loose the karka shell skin. So get the capacitor to the right lvl you want it before transmuting.
