for a long time now i’ve had this problem where, as the title mentions, my monitors would turn black during normal play. the PC is still running fine, the game is running in the background, i can “technically” play (if it wasn’t for the fact i can’t see anything). but it just seems like maybe the graphic driver is crashing.
the thing is tho, i tried to clean install multiple drivers specifically engineered for my combo of graphic card + OS, and that brought no help.
a bit of googling suggests that it’s my router’s firewall. and that i should open port(s) to gw2 or something, but i have no knowledge of how to do that.
as mentioned, the blackouts seem to be random, without relation to what’s going on in the game. i did the tarir event with dozens of people on the screen and everything was fine. my last crash was during the boss at the aetherblade fractal, others where i was alone in the testing golem, trying to perfect my rotation.
their timing is also seemingly random, as it could come once every 5min, or like my last crash, after 3 days of regular play.
i shall be forever thankful if someone could help me solve this issue. it is seriously hindering my enjoyment of playing the game.
i really doubt it’s my hardware, as this is a relatively new rig
all temps remain before, during and after the crash, this is not an overheating issue. i’ve also ran "heavier"games like witcher 3 without issue.
