Server overload
have you tried changing the quality setting, especially the character model ones??
If you are lagging it means you have to load to many things at the same time. turning those two settings down while in wvw should help
Arise, opressed of Tyria!
I don’t think that’s an issue though,I was in fractals with 4 other people, all on high end computers and out of all of them I was the only one that seemed to have no lag issues. The rest couldn’t see what their char was doing or looked as though they jumped on the platforms of the harpy fractal but on my screen they just ran off them. And I am on Seafarer’s Rest as well. A lot of us assume the issue is caused due to an influx of players transfering to us.
I’m running a 3.6 GHz 8 core processor with 7900 series GPU, solid state drive and a fibre optic internet connection. I built this set-up specifically to play GW2. And I run at quite low graphics settings to get best performance in WvW.
Normally, I have no problems at all. This week is completely different. The game runs quite normally until a larg-ish engagement starts (not talking a 3-way megablob clash here – just a moderate number of players), then the connection freezes.
What I see is all the players around me run into walls or continuously repeat some animation for several seconds, all particle effects seem to stop. then they all rubber-band to a new location with a big explosion of particle effects. Sometimes I get a disconnection – it’s pretty obvious that the connection has paused at the server end and my client is trying to fill-in the movements by extrapolation (clever stuff really).
Sometimes the connection doesn’t resume in time and times out. Hence the DC.
I’m not convinced it’s just numbers although we are facing very long queues this week.
