Just finished Shadow Behemoth and a chest didn’t appear at the end. This is the 2nd time I did it today. Is there an internal timer for these kind of things?

I think Jeffrey means once per day, per character… cause I ran two alts through the swamp Monday, one in the am, and one after lunch (but before server reset) , and both got chests. Then again… I could be smoking banana peels

Something odd happened yesterday in the final Centaur camp in Hirathi, the one where you storm the gate and eventually kill the main boss.

By the time I got there on one of my characters the fight for the gates was over but the super chest (can’t recall it’s exact type) that spawns once the gates have been breached was available for him to loot: he’d not hit a single centaur in that fight, but since he was in the event area I thought he was just lucky.

THEN, I logged in a second character, ran her there and the chest was up for her too .. she wasn’t even in the game when it spawned!

This can’t be WAI, surely?

But every time you do Jormag, Shatterer, Grenth or similar each day you get a chest every time, right?

So is the Shadow Behemoth unique in this regard in that the chest only spawns once per character per day? Is it because the contents of the chest could be something very rare? (leading into all the theory around FR)

yesterday in the evening I did tequatl the sunless and although I got gold medal from finishing the event I didnt get a chest spawn.

That’s interesting, considering the latest Red Post talked about 10 people with 1 chest per day in 7 months yadda yadda… If SB only spawns 1 chest a day, that could mean that FR comes from this chest. No?

I’m confused that Shadow Behemoth chest would have a daily limit but Claw of Jormag wouldn’t. I’ve definitely opened two Claw of Jormag chests in the space of 20 minutes thanks to guesting.

I believe Jeffrey is mistaken, as my guild and I kill Shadow Behemoth anywhere from 10-20 times (each of us individually) in a single day across different servers, and we each get the chest each time. There have been instances early on where we missed one chest, but the chest not spawning seems to be related to only damaging the boss during the event and not hitting any of the portals or doing the pre-event at all. We all make sure we kill portals and mobs, as well as attack Shadow Behemoth. If the chest isn’t supposed to be obtainable that frequently, could it be bugged?

I would like to find out what Anet’s stance is on switching servers/guesting to access multiple chests. I would like to partake, but something inside me says sketchy.

I killed the SB 2 o 3 times on a day in the same server with the same character (when the kitten event is not bugged of course) and I got the chest all the times so what’s that about the chest appearing once per day?

Where was this posted that ANet would limit chest spawn for certain DE bosses?

I understand that this being low level boss means the fight is easy for the constant reward, however, this boss has a timer just like the others of higher level, so stealth nerfing this has no merit IMO.

Has this chest always been this way?

Are there other meta events, or any other event at all really, that will only spawn a chest once per day?

I ask because I find it quite odd that I can kill the Shatterer, Tequatl, the Fire Elemental in thaumanova reactor, or even the frozen maw multiple times in the day and receive a chest each time but that the Shadow Behemoth is the only meta event boss that has this limitation.

Another ninja nerf? Cuz I’m sure the chest spawned at each kill few days ago :/

I`ve been to the Shadow Behemoth twice today & had no chest spawn.
I haven`t been there since yesterday, so the chest is either bugging for some players or just doesn`t like them…

3 years after, and I’m here, 2 days in a row I killed him with ONE char and didn’t get the chest…
