Noticed the other day I hadn’t completed the shortbow kills achievement. I have been stuck on 3140 kills.

I know I should have maxed this quite some time ago, as I’ve been using my thief with a short bow for farming for a good 5 months now. I maxed staff & great sword rather quickly.

After a weekend of farming southsun, it has started tracking again…kind of…I now have 3168 kills with a shortbow…

I think the kill credit is odd – I was stuck on trident for at least 100 kits before it awarded me with the 500 for the next achievement level. In any case check to make sure you a) wield the weapon when you kill the mob b) do not use condi damage or trait / utility / pet / f1-f4 skills to kill the mob c) make sure you are the only one damaging the mob and d) check your damage log to see what was the killing hit.

You need to get the last hit on an enemy to have it count for weapons master achievements.

If you want shortbow kills, you need to be the last person to hit an enemy (with your shortbow) before it dies.

You DO NOT get credit just for tagging the enemy with your shortbow and letting it die in a zerg of people.

I think its odd that the Short Bow requires the last hit but Staff, GS, Pistols & Hammer do not.

Unless I got extremely lucky with Staff, GS, Pistols & Hammer to land the last hit way more frequently than a SB. Its taking SB soooo much longer, something must have changed.

All of the weapons you have listed are the same way.
