Guild Wars 2

The change a few months back was nice where you could set yourself to show as offline, log off and come back hours later still showing as offline if you just wanted to pop on and do alittle quick TP work/bank/etc without getting into a long conversation with everyone. It seems as of this patch its been bugged up again, if I log off showing offline, and log back in game after say 10 minutes its reset me to show online, if its under this time it seems to still show me as offline. The timing could be off on this, but would appreciate it being fixed back to the way it was.

You are still showing as offline. What changed is the “last logged in” time — that now updates regardless of your status. For example:

• 2 PM logon
• 3 PM logoff: shows 3 pm as your last logon time.
• 4 PM logon and immediately go invisible; still shows 3 pm as last logged in time.
• 5 PM logoff while still invisible; game now shows 5 pm as your last logged in time, instead of 3 pm.

In addition, anyone watching you on friends list, blocked list, or via guild panels can see your current location. If you move or change toons, they can tell you’re online.

So “invisible” is really “less easily visible and don’t whisper me” rather than behaving as if you really aren’t in the game.

Actually, at least for me, the whole ‘keep your status’ didn’t really work, as far as record-keeping went, since it was first introduced a month or so ago.

I could log off as invisible, and log back on…still invisible…but Guild records, etc. showed my last active time as the time I last logged off, whether invisible or not. Which rendered it rather useless, in my opinion.

Thus, I’m not sure anything changed with any of the subsequent patches, including the latest one.
