After doing Tequatl at reset this evening, I used my Silver Fed Salvage-O-Matic to salvage the rares I got, and then after I cleared up my inventory, I realized that the salvage-o-matic has disappeared. Seems like when they changed how salvage kits work in conjunction with confirmation boxes, it led to the consuming of my salvage-o-matic.

Were you using it from the Bank UI? If so, you probably accidentally put it in there. Search your bank.

Interesting. I did have the bank UI open in the background when I was using it. And out of curiousity, I repeated this and found that just whenever you salvage with the bank screen open, it will deposit the SOM.

Just for future note, that functionality isn’t limited to only that item – double-clicking any item in your inventory while your bank is open will transfer that item into the first open slot in the bank, even if that item has a ‘double-click to use function’.

I had the same problem with a BL salvage kit. I had the bank open in the background while I opened my inventory to do some salvaging. The kit disappeared, but then I noticed that it was now in the bank. This is a rather annoying change in functionality.

It’s been this way since launch; it’s not new.

I have been playing since launch. I assure you that it is new. I was using the salvage kit in the “I” window, not the bank window, as I have done many, many times before without having the salvage kit sent to the bank.

Ahh, I see what you’re saying now. If it’s happening in the Inventory window, then yeah, that’s weird and new.

However, I can’t duplicate it. I’m standing at the bank, with the bank UI up. I have my Inventory window up over/next to it, and I’m salvaging with both unlimited use kits. My kits aren’t going to the bank. So, if that’s actually happening to people, it’s not happening to everyone.

There is something weird going on with kits. After seeing a few topics on it, I’ve made sure to have my bank open in the background while salvaging, to test it myself.

When salvaging a bunch of rare armors with a mystic kit, I noticed the kit was missing from its usual spot in my inventory. I checked the bank first, but it wasn’t there. Turns out, after salvaging one of the armors, the kit had been replaced by the rune extracted from the armor. The kit was in the previously empty inventory slot the rune should have been placed in.

I also tried to duplicate the issue and wasn’t able to. If someone seeing this has the time (and patience), maybe they could upload a screenshot or two to show the steps they are taking. Maybe there’s some minor difference between what I’m doing and what others are doing that can cause them to see this behavior even though I do not.

Well, this time I was able to duplicate the issue using a mystic kit. I’m trying to determine under what circumstances it happens and haven’t found a pattern..yet. It might be happening just after getting a rune, but I haven’t done enough testing to be sure.

I’ll test it out with more kits, too.
