Q:
Silverwastes Shovel buggged
Can you use skill 2, as in, click it and do the animation but it doesn’t show the green path? If yes, you’re just not close enough to a chest for it to show!
Try walking to another part of the map and use skill 2 again. If there is a chestfarm going on in your map, all the chests might already have been opened; it takes a while for them to respawn. You can recognize where chests are in SW by searching for little piles of sand that are slightly higher and of a different colour than the surrounding area. The easiest way to spot them is to up your gamma and turn your settings all the way down.
I’ve personally never had any issues with the shovels, but that might be because I know where all the spots they can spawn at are. (If you don’t know where to search for them, https://gw2efficiency.com/guides/text-guides/silverwastes is a nice map with most of the spawn locations marked! )

Nope. it does not do the animation. but I tried again today, and it worked. maybe I just need to restart the game.
Tbh i wouldnt even worry about skill 2 – its not really needed as you can spot the buried treasure mound quite easily – it looks like a small mound . If you are not used to spotting them then the easiest way is to join a chest train and try and keep up with the leader who will usually head to the mounds ( they can usually respawn in same spots or in close proximity ) . All the chest trains i been on n last 5 months never use skill 2 as often you will see a trail that leads to a chest further ahead instead of one thats right close . Also use the map Luna linked as well – that way you can learn both spots and what to look for easily rather than run around blind till you get used to them .
