When playing Lyssa tonight, I was suddenly unable to activate ANY skills. Everything else worked fine, but pressing any skill key resulted in nothing at all.

This isn’t like the skill lag.. I wasn’t getting any lag. The game is running great for me since I added a bunch of hardware and installed win8.1

Workaround: I logged off, and right back in (without restarting the client) and it was working perfectly again.

This happened only this ONE time and I ran WvW since about 9am PDT, then bosses, Tequatl and 4 temples ending at 2:03am PDT (eek!) so I wouldn’t say it’s a common bug.

I am a Guardian and I have autoattack turned OFF.

One more thing: I was playing Lyssa (final phase) and it wasn’t like when you are stunned or needing to look away from Lyssa when attacking her minions.

I walked away from the center battle area, checked to see if there were any conditions on me, etc. Stood around for a minute or so trying to get any skill to work.

Happened with my ele in Queensdale last night. Intermittent attacks with my staff until I changed elements.

This happened to me when doing the Kessex quest to free the slaves in the lake. Clicking skills or pressing the skill key had no effect so I had to run/swim away from the Krait and re-log.

I too have experienced this, after mass battles, once its all died down, I am still unable to use skills.

My Guardian’s focus 5 (Shield of Wrath) doesn’t want to work at all.

Clicking or hitting 5 while my focus is equipped doesn’t provoke any reaction from the skill on the skillbar. No animation, no flashing icon, no CD. I’ve tried restarting my client, switching weapons, changing zones, etc. etc.

My other characters’ focus 5 skills are working fine, so I don’t think it’s got anything wrong on my end, and my guardian’s other 5 skills (and indeed all skills) are working fine.

Focus 4 works fine too, 5 just doesn’t want to activate for some reason.

See my thread on DR having no NPCs on half if its map… it was a bit creepy and my skills on my guardian were not animating (no damage circles or anything), but the buffs still worked. My leap skill with the hammer would make me jump then I’ll rubber band back to my initial position. Way Pointing to the upper level outer ring fixed it. Also I could talk in /map, say etc, but not see anyone but my party and emotes.

All I did was try to enter a elevator down at the Drumand Hall/Kormir slices of DR and when that failed to take me down I ran down the slope into the bugged area. I was RPing too and my RP partner here— she saw the npcs and stuff when I did not.

It seems to be affecting client sides.

I got that like 3 times this week only.
Like mentioned in the first post, when I try pressing some skills those happen:

1. it doesn’t ‘lock’ or activate at all. whereas skill lag, you see the skill blinking then it activates after the lag goes away. In this case it doesn’t blink nor does it activate.
2. I can infinite dodge, my stamina doesn’t go down. Now you would think this is cool. but no and it looks like im hacking which I’m not.
3. some skills seem to work, like for example on ele I could swap to fire/air/etc and use some skills like arcane blast, whereas with mesmer nothing worked.
4. For me the way to get out of this useless state, I have to either DIE or logout.

This is very inconvenient, specially during peek hrs in WVW. Queue is so long it’s best to just suicide but it’s not practical!@! I lose my stacks and stuffs.

Had an even funnier condition 2 or 3 days back. I was doing my story on my Ele wenn I encountered this exact bug. Only that I could prove it was not lag because 2 of my additional skills (8&9) were still working. Weapon skills, heal and all others did not respond. Somehow managed to kill the last enemy with just that (downstate attack worked by the way, getting up, everything still locked) and went outside, everything worked perfectly again. So yes, that was weird…

This happened to my friend a few times the other day on his hunter, he couldn’t use any of his skills the entire fight but the next one he could.

Everytime I had this problem getting downed fixed it.

It seems to me that your problem isn’t related to the bug advertised in this thread. You may want to check if you actually unocked the skill on your character, it may be unlocked to 95%

The best fix method is going in the water or getting knocked out. Worst case scenario is relogin and risk getting queued or losing stacks.

Regardless, this is an annoying bug since Tower of Nightmares release.

Yes, it was 95% or enough that I couldn’t actually see it, even on the weaponskill menu.

I will now leave to spend the rest of my life in my embarrassed exile in some distant monastery.
