Hello! I am currently leveling with a friend and we are doing everything at the same time. For some odd reason when I go to do a skill point challenge, he can not do it. For him it just says “I’ll Come Back Later” which is weird because I’m the same level as him and can do them just fine. Any ideas guys? I didn’t have this problem before the New Leveling Experience update.

I just noticed I am one quest ahead of him on the personal story, could this really be the reason why he can’t unlock any skill points?

Skill points are locked for characters on new accounts/characters until the requisite level. All part of the NPE.

But that doesn’t make sense, the Skill Challenge page on the wiki says there is no level req for Communing with power. Also I can do the skill challenges that he can’t yet we are at the same level. Is this a bug or am I just missing something here?

Now that I think of it, every skill challenge that doesn’t have a level requirement he can’t do. For example the communing with power and the ones where you just consume something given in your inventory. Like I am standing right next to him, doing a skill challenge at the same level as him, and his just says “I’ll Come Back Later”

If your account is not new, you will not encounter the level-locks for Skill Points. Once Skill Points are unlocked, the ability to interact with them is unlocked account-wide.

Oh so since I’ve messed with them before on older characters I can do it on my new characters? Is there anyway you can tell me what level the interaction with skill points starts to happen? I believe you should be able to do the skill point challenge if you are the level of the area. I don’t know that feature just seems odd to me

they should unlock at level 13

Skill challenges are unlocked at level 13; at lower levels, they are not shown on the map and cannot be interacted with.

Yes, that was one of (unneeded) changes introduced for the NPE.
