in location Mount Maelstrom 60-70
theres no NPC named Petil around the location where the skill point shows he should be. Looks like the challenge already started but without the mob

yes, we just experienced the same problem (server: dzagonur). really annoying, as its the only point missing for completion of the area.

We are having the same issue on Stormbuff with the NPC not being there but showing the challenge as active.

Tonight’s update seems to have fixed it.

Similar issue on our server (Jade Quarry). Petil is nowhere to be found, yet he appears in the chat log saying “You, wanderer! Come and face me!”, over and over again. The event is not active at all.

Gandara server seems to have the same problem

I cant finish map, because i cannot find skill challenge from subject.

When i go to the point, Petil do not exist. I try exit from game, and reload, but problem stil exist.

Please help!

Skill point near Tzanopl Ground in Mount Maelstrom is bugged. Petil does not spawn at all.

Def. can confirm this. I believe he is there as he is taunting players but he is in the ground or hidden….point is, this skill challenge is un-obtainable. Seems as the game goes on, more and more and more bugs are popping up. I completed this zone on my thief, but as I am leveling my warrior I am encountering handfuls of bugs in every single zone.

Petil is inexistant on Augury Rock as well.

Could we have any insight on this problem ?

Still is bugged like Thefarside said looks like stuck underground or something.

Still bugged in Sorrow’s Furnace. He’s calling me out, but no one’s there.

Still bugged on 9/16 on Kaineng.

same problem at Underworld… bugged for 2 days now… weird thing is i had done that sp a week ago with my elementalist….

Can also confirm this. I’m a mad completionist, so leaving the zone without it is bugging the hell out of me. ;_;

I was trying to grab this today, still bugged, he won’t spawn.

Sanctum of rall as well. I guess this is one way of keeping people from getting 100% world map clear…

Some how i managed to get it. I have 100% that zone now. I thought it was fixed… o.O

Just go server hopping… i found Petil up on my second transfer and finished it… I have had to do it for a few maps already… It bugs till server patches and resets.

when you come close, the skill challenge event indicator goes on (orange fist in circle) but no Petil…

This was still taking place at the Maguuma server as well. Not sure if it’s showing up as repaired in other places, since the last comment appearing here was 4 days ago so I thought I would give it a nudge.

Still bugged on Crystal Desert today (9/23), it’s the only part of the zone I have uncompleted…

Good grief! This is becoming increasingly frustrating for many players with weeks of this issue persisting =( It is hit or miss, and most of the time for many, it’s a miss. What baffles me, is that Anet states they have solid coding practices and their interns learn how to code efficiently.

For these type of issues, I am surprised at how long these type of fixes take. Do you not have any way to spawn these NPC’s? Does your In-Game Support team not have the proper tools to do this or the large number of other things that they should have access to? Some transparency after another week has gone by would be great.

reading back I see this has been going for nearly a month already and its still not fixed.
and its now the second map I can not complete, very frustrating to say the least

Yes, Anet needs to fix the underlying problem that is causing DEs and skill points to glitch. What I can’t understand, though, is why they can’t reset individual events during the middle of the day. Unless they can but they’re overwhelmed by the sheer number of broken oranges across all the servers. I don’t know… I want to stay patient and be understanding, but I hope Anet also understands that this is a game we play for fun in our precious free time, and running around to skill challenges and DEs that end up being bugged when we get there… that’s not fun. :|

Wow, this thread was started on Sept. 5, and it’s October 1st. The skill is still bugged, as of this moment, on Tarnished Coast. And all of Timberline Falls is bugged to hell. Literally, all of it.
