Well, thought I’d cross-post it here. Slaying potions should reduce the damage you take from the respective mobs, but the opposite is the case.

After some extensive tank-and-spank sessions I noticed something weird. Slaying potions actually make you take MORE damage, not less.

I tested this with Undergrowth Webber on new TA path getting hit multiple times with and without Nightmare Court Slaying. Then I went to Arah and tested same with Undead Slaying on Orrian Villager.

You will still deal more damage so at least that part works.

I was about to re-post it here as well, so sad to not have any devs on the dungeon forums.
Also, just checked dredge potions, not working properly as well.

i was running a fractal 48 a few days ago when my party told me about this glitch. i use potions for almost everything, and when they don’t apply, i use maintenance oils- this glitch is messing up my game! i sure hope anet is patching it with the next update.

Was this ever fixed?

This appears to have been fixed, at least with the Powerful Dredge potion, as of 2/20/2014.

and what’s better is they put it in the update notes!

“Fixed an issue in which the Powerful Potion of Slaying Scarlet’s Armies was causing players to take additional damage from Scarlet’s forces.” – what they didn’t mention is they also fixed all the other slaying potions at the same time.
