I noticed that I DC’d not long after reading the mail that was sent to us (“in error”, as Devs here have confirmed) from the Black Lion Trading Company. When I logged back in, that mail was still marked as “unread”, but I refused to click on it for fear that that was the reason I was DC’d in the first place.
Can someone confirm this, see if it was a reason for disconnects?

Completely unrelated. People DC’d who clicked and who didn’t — even the wiki/forums had performance issues.

I haven’t had any issues related to that mail from BLC, although I still wonder why I got it, but it didn’t cause any crash to me. And I can’t tell much about disconnects after latest patch, I have been suffering from black screens crashes for months now :/
The BLC mail is a ‘confirmation’ that you unlocked Out of the Shadows. (The bug is: either it was supposed to say that or it wasn’t supposed to happen via email.) It still has nothing to do with crashing.
If anyone reading this is still crashing after today’s patch, please contact support — they can help you much more quickly than any of us. (Unless it’s an issue affecting everyone, in which case you’d see lots of responses or multiple threads about it.)
