Sonic Periscopes still spawning May 14
Yep. Found one in Iron Marches; it didn’t attack me, and I couldn’t target it, but dropping AoEs on it still made it drop an Audio Log.
Came back to the spot and it had respawned fully animated and attacking this time.
also, the sound effect is still there (even if inactive)
Arise, opressed of Tyria!
The periscopes also appear to still be able to summon the Molten Invaders event as well.
As of this AM, “some” (all?) of the Sonic Periscopes are still active, still interacting with the players, continuing to interfere with waypoints, and still dropping audio logs on their destruction. However, the collectors for these logs have “seemingly” moved on to bigger and better? things, and no longer have any access to “free karma” to pay for them!!
I may be paranoid, but could it be—————-nah—————those collectors of audio logs couldn’t have been in the pay of the Dredge and Flame Legion all along———right
It is strange that they all disappeared right before (or very shortly after) the brown, stinky stuff hit the rotary impellor, after the destruction of the secret labs.
Still seeing them appear, and they’re attacking and starting the events to kill Molten invaders.
Apparently they didn’t get the memo that the Molten Alliance was defeated.
South part of Wayfairer Foothills (west or south of Hero’s Moot WP), i ran into a Periscope.
It made sound, attacked me, did damage and spawned Dredge. Well, there were Dredge in the area.
(and no, i dont mean the Dredge that attack the snowleopards)
I was looking forward the the removal of these things. Too bad it didn’t happen- hopefully they’ll be gone soon.

Lately, I’ve ran into these Sonic Periscopes pretty much all over Asalon and the Shiverpeaks, and none of these were inactive. Now these things were annoying enough even when they were supposed to be there – knowing they shouldn’t be there anymore doesn’t help.
May 28th Patch seems to have marked the end for the periscopes, speaking for myself they will not be missed nor mourned …. the Moderators can now close this thread
