Sorrow's Embrace path 1 STILL bugged
I just played it for the first time and beat it today. Yes it is hard but it is totally completable. FYI the start is easy compared to the later golem bosses.
The first boss can be burned down pretty quickly with enough dps before adds become a problem.
The second boss is a little harder as you have to run past the mobs and engage at the door so the adds dont cumulate. Then the boss fight is hard with all the singularities, but it is doable.
The golems are really hard. All I can say is kite in to tunnel and fight one at a time. Pulling utility skills help. The fire golemn is really the only hard one, but he can wipe the whole group fast.
My only gripe is that the starting endless inquest never despawn, even if you kill their respective bosses. That seemed pretty stupid, cause the run past mechanic gets old as there is no distal waypoint.

I have done the instance dozens of times. The golems don’t have much HP and once you learn how to manipulate their aiming you practically won’t get hit at all. The issue is the bugged spawn time between the waves at the start (same bug that was introduced in the Halloween patch and which had supposedly been fixed). Maybe sometimes they spawn at the right interval, but the last time I was there they were back to 15-20 seconds, which is unplayable. And I have no intention of checking again before the next patch where (hopefully) it will actually be fixed.

If you can kill him in 20 seconds, I want to know what spec and gear you’re using, because it takes me 3 or 4 minutes…

Ok, im a necro, speced 20 power line, 30 precision line, 20 healing line
weapons are dagger/warhorn and staff
utilities are vunderability well, boon conversion well, and blind well
ultimate is plague form
Start fight and drop wells which gives a large dps boost to the whole party, melee tank him with dagger
Once things get hairy I pop my ultimate plague form and aoe blind everyone on a 1.5 second cooldown for 20 seconds. After that I then drop my blind well for another 6 seconds.
That gives around 40 to 45 seconds to beat him without anyone taking damage. Not mentioning I can also drop a fear mark and I can death shroud tank and pull the mobs away to protect the group
We did it with a 5 man on our second attempt.
We had ele, mesmer, ranger, thief, and me the necro.
Blinds do nothing to prevent AoE damage, which is 90% of the damage done by the mobs in the infinitely spawning waves.
Clearly you didn’t get the spawn timer bug, or you wouldn’t even be suggesting that as a “solution” (which it wouldn’t be anyway, because not every group has access to a 20-second blind, and the fight obviously isn’t designed to require one).
Also, the boss doesn’t die in 45 seconds, especially not if one team member is spending 20 of those seconds spamming blinds instead of high-damage spells).
The spawn rate of waves was buggesd after the Halloween update, and the developers acknowledged as much. The issue is that we were told it had been fixed in the next patch, but wasn’t. There have been some changes to Sorrow’s Embrace in the Lost Shores update, though, so hopefully this time path 1 has been fixed for good.

I confirm it is still bugged (packs of 3 mobs rushed ou group each 15 seconds).
I’ve been searching on the internet and people say it has been bugged since halloween.
Please fix this lol.
That path and arah path 4 are the only dungeons I need to get the dungeon master achievement.
thanking you in advance,
Ber
I can confirm this is still bugged. Stupid amount of mobs spawning, impossible odds.
I just tried doing this route and… whoa boy. Mobs come so fast that it’s impossible to handle them and they come infinitely. At first I’m pretty sure we had at 5 or 7 groups of 3 veteran mobs each stacked together on the waypoint.
Please do something about this. This is just unfair.

this dungeon is impossible to beat. as it is right now. and it sucks really hard.

Really isn’t. Literally just did it. Waves of mobs are a bit of a joke, would appreciate it if they were halved, would still be a challenge then. But it’s easily possible. With a group that included myself, a guildie that never runs dungeons, a friend that’s pretty casual, and another couple we did it. None of us are majorly skilled and yeah we died. But it’s definitely possible.

Have you considered the possibility that maybe that run wasn’t affected by the bug…?
I did this dungeon path weeks ago on my first attempt at it. To get by the mobs we all used ash legion spy kits (bought with karma, 10 seconds of stealth when not moving) whenever a wave of mobs got near we popped a ash legion kit. Once they moved on, we moved on. It was easy to do and the first two bosses are really easy to kill as well.
Note: The ash legion spy kit does not stealth your pet, so don’t try that method with a ranger.
