It seems in many areas of the game. You suddenly hear a conversation between two npcs, this happens when there are no npcs within viewing distance, its very offputting and kinda kills the imersion. thanks

Ok ive run out of silver but as I get more ill post them here….
Blackroot Cut : voices heard from npc other side of hill from take remains event.
Lornars Gate : npcs from over hill can be heard
Between The wendon steps and Nemeton grove : bandit exterminator from skritt and pois traps event.
Forager ivee’titi
Forager Rascko
Forager Lililonka These r also all heard having a conversation in same area.
Forager Fitzxchatack
Brisban wildlands : theives who want to attack skritts and get to their throne.

Same here, been playing human (so Kryta areas) and have noticed the same exact thing. Thought it was because I had sound latency over at stable.
I will also add that in wvw you will randomly hear things from characters not near you. IE “I’m incapacitated!” as if you are standing right by them… but you are not by anyone. Happens often.
Sometime when a big event start you can hear npc from very far, probably as long as you are in that region of the map. A good example of this would be the thieves in Brisban wildlands who want to attack skritts and get to their throne room. (Close to Wendon steps)
Same happen with trebuchet. Sometime you hear them from very far and the sound is even louder than when you’re next to them. This happen often in Kessex and Harati Hinterland.
I kinda find it annoying too.
I always thought this was some kind of feature, you know, to let the player know something is going on.
However it seems kinda stupid, and yes, breaks immersion.
I get odd voice samples all over the place. Stuff that doesn’t make sense. At first I thought it was NPCs I couldn’t see, but it’s also player racial voices. Saying they are crippled or feeling might or things that don’t apply to my race when no other player is around.
I asked in game and other people say they are getting random voices.

Tamnin Foothills : portal sounds from swamp can be heard very loudly.
Lornars Gate : npcs from over hill can be heard
Yeah I ran into some areas that does this as well, but sorry I cannot recall where it was from.
If we gather thse on a peice of paper then post them here we could make a thread correlating all out of place sounds

This is happening to me a lot, too.
Then there’s the game sometimes not playing sound effects for even my own attack skills (seems to happen more with ambient sounds around), and the loud pops of static-ish noise, but the random yelling is really immersion breaking.
I really appreciate your input on this thread but please try to keep it on track.
This thread is for npcs voices. Feel fre to open another thread on ambient sounds.
I dont see how it is any different, there are sound bytes being played when we shouldnt hear them, if you want to delete my posts I wont bother contributing further.
