Q:
Special characters, like æ.
No one? This is a decent sized bug.
Old as this is, I’m going to bring it up again rather than make a new thread. When using the Microsoft US-International keyboard layout, I cannot send special characters in chat. It simply crashed my client when I press Enter to send it. It’s not related to the keyboard layout, however, because using the standard US keyboard layout and pasting the characters provides the same result. I just tested it again, and it is related to the keyboard layout. I can type á on the US-International layout, switch to regular US, and send the character just fine. But if I try to send while the US-International layout is selected, it crashes. Using the German or even Japanese layouts works just fine (though GW2 only has support for Chinese characters… which is silly.)
“Special characters” refers to any non-English character, including the following:
þ ð æ ø å ä ö ü ß ¿ ¡ á é í ó ú à è… etc.
This makes it REALLY challenging to type in foreign languages, which I need to do fairly often. I’ve found that running the client in repair mode sometimes fixes the problem, but I’d say only about 10% of the time.

I feel like this is a really important bug that can’t be ignored…
