Greetings,

I was hoping to let you know about an interface issue I’ve been having. This is on my Ranger (Il Claire Il) on the Queensdale map, Devona’s Rest server.

She’s level 8 right now, but I thought at level 2 the characters get a simple healing skill. The icon panel for the heal skill is flashing, but when I click on it, it doesn’t pull up any abilities. Being human, I think this character has a Dwayna ability and a healing ability. I was not able to choose one by clicking on it. There’s also usually a little arrow that points above the icon for changing utilities, but this isn’t there. (It may show up around level 11.)

Not sure how to fix it, or what I should do. I’m hoping it comes back on its own. x)
None of my other characters are affected by the missing ability in the skill bar panel.

You may find that the answer to your problem is that you have yet to learn/unlock the healing skill in your Hero Screen, check by going to the ‘Skill/Traits’ page and see if you have them unlocked – if not just spend the points and then they should be available using the selection arrow on the flashing skill icon.

Every character starts with a healing skill unlocked, but there has been a bug effecting rangers since the 9/29 update. Your unlocked heal(s) should return when you level up. I’m not 100% sure if it fixes itself at every level or a certain level (would be 10 or 11 if that’s the case).

If you need some easy non-combat XP, try exploring a city. You can also use a Tome of Knowledge or Writs of Experience if you have any of those items.

Ranger starter heal is now “We Heal As One” I think? (edit for kitten filter being silly)

You should always start with a heal. However… They changed this skill twice in less than 24 hours about a week ago. I know after it was changed the 2nd time, that it unequipped it on my ranger, so I had no heal. I’m assuming same situation? Or had you just created the character? If that is the case, then it’s not giving you a heal because the ‘version’ it’s trying to give you doesn’t exist, I’m not able to test this to see atm, but either way this is how you lost a heal there. You will need to do as suggested to get one back.

I think this has been happening without it being directly linked to the updates that changed We Heal As One. Some reports of it I’ve seen do seem to indicate that it might have happened in the middle of a single play session, but weren’t completely clear. It’s happened to a friend a few times, so I’ll ask her about it later today. She did have it on a level 80 and was able to immediately re-equip a heal, unlike many of the lower level characters that have encountered this bug.

I’ve still not encountered this myself, which could be because I haven’t used We Heal As One recently. For the sake of testing, I dropped my current heal for it.

after they changed we heal as one it unequipped on my ranger so i had to equip it again. this could be the problem. like others have said try adding some hero points and unlock a new heal ability might unlock it again. if not drop a ticket to support and see if they can fix it for you.

It’s a lot more of an issue for new players, because they’ll still have hero challenges locked till level 11. They also won’t have any writs or tomes for easy XP/levels.

The only fix I’m aware of for a new player below level 10 is to gain a level, which can be a pain without a heal skill. But at least you can still get XP from exploring and discovering waypoints/points of interest/etc.

better i use longbow and run for life…it’s not nice without healing
