Story Line quest bug.
When reporting story bugs, please provide the name of the story step, or it’s nigh-impossible for me to track down. Fortunately, I recognize this objective, and I’m currently working on the bug, but we haven’t been able to reproduce it, so it’s proving to be rather tricky.

Curiously, is this also necessary when reporting them ingame while doing the problematic story quest? I always provide it (as well as the level of the story quest and my race), but my screenshot, and I would imagine, the info you guys have about my character from the report, should provide you with the name of the story step… right? Or am I mistaken?
I remember one of the events I did back in BWE1 bugged on me every time I tried it—it was infuriating. Escort NPC1 to NPC2, escort NPC1 + NPC2 back to the start—but the exit wasn’t triggering.
It turns out I was taking a path that bypassed a dialogue trigger that resulted in NPC1 being in an incorrect state at the end, which meant the exit script wouldn’t fire (or so I surmise based on the descriptions I’ve seen of how events work on the back-end coupled with my own observations). All I had to do was walk down path 1 instead of scaling a wall and taking path 2.
If you can record your play-through and share that I imagine it would be an invaluable tool in tracking down the issue (in my case, there was a very obvious missing line of dialogue). At the very least, it should be a more accurate set of steps to try to reproduce the issue.

If it’s an in-game bug report, the exact story step and your location are included automatically, though it helps a lot if you include the name in the description so I don’t have to look up all the external info. And for forum reports, of course, I need the story step name or I have to guess where you’re running into the bug.
