Story quest "Hearts and Minds" is bugged.
I had all of the above. Just finished it after maybe 2-3hours. Some tips: remeber where Braham opens the rifts, so when you glide keep in that same area. It’s always dps phase, illusion, rift, dps, illusion, rift and then glide phase. Glide exactly where Braham last opened a rift, Mordremoth will destroy the spot where you’re standing at the end of it. As for the updrafts don’t jump, run into them and when they take you up hit space to glide.
Good luck and hope these things get fixed soon, I’m off to bed

If they just made it so that Brahams shield actually worked for you during the air phase.
It would help a lot, especially when the gliding lags.
Dragonbrand
Just beat mordremoth after an intense 30 min fight, with only the shield bug happening, we get to the end (theres 2 of us) and my friend is stuck in the cage (and he started the storyline) Mordremoth dies, but the storyline is stuck. No progression.. This blows. Goats.
Just had to quit after doing the entire thing and getting the pillsbury dragon boy to 25% because the into the air launcher on the very last flight segment didnt shoot me up. Died and ended up locked in the penalty box with no way to re-enter or advance.
I just helped a guildy… omg…
the exit star or whatever is called is so badly positioned that it pop up every few seconds, especially at the last faze. pls remove it or reposition, cos is just stupid.
we died at last faze and after it bugged: mordy got full health, rytlock spawned, we “killed” him then suddenly the last faze started with all the trash mobs and mordy’s health at 10%. I mean, thanks for the help but to buggy…
sorry for my bad english.
So this thing is 6 months old and I found a post about it in another forum, that’s even 10 months old …. and the thing is STILL bugged!
Most of the time the updrafts are either invisible or/and don’t take me and my fellow players up. So failing the fight is unavoidable, since only one of us managed to stay alive after that first gliding phase each frakking time we tried.
Okay, so we’ll try the advice with just running into them, it’s still tricky when you don’t see them :-(
Please patch this!

I thought it is just me that couldn’t finish this thing.
In video I clearly saw the updrafts but in my instance I didn’t see anything. Shield wasn’t working either. so I died twice and gave up. might try it in 2~3 years again if I’m still playing this game and see if they fixed this thing, or may be as someone in forums keep advising players
… designed as group events, therefore, working as intended.
If you can’t see the updrafts, try adjusting your graphics settings. I can’t recall which setting did it, but setting one to higher levels (possibly post-processing) helps me see semi-transparent objects.
I ran into the Mordremoth glider issue just last night. The Hearts and Minds quest is grueling as-is, and I felt like I wasted my time in this quest – and dare I say, all my time in the Heart of Maguuma – when it culminated in a buggy boss fight I couldn’t even complete…
Yeah, another thread about the buggy Heart and Mind. Maybe somebody will go and fix this fight after all. What I would love to see addressed as well, although I know it is a feature, not a bug, is the “penalty cage”. It is so annoying. Please never include a feature like that in a fight ever again, Anet.
Went into this story step after successfully completing it on some of my other characters a number of weeks ago and was surprised by an absolutely annoying change had been made to it. Is it a bug? Not necessarily, just an astounding poorly implemented change.
There’s a portal to leave the story that resides right in the main playing area of both arenas. Continuous pop ups asking if the player wants to leave the instance every time you move through its activation area. This portal exists even in face to face Mordremoth arena. While the pop ups are annoying, it becomes a trolling feature to put a rift activation in the area of the portal activation – which then led to being booted out of the story.
While the penalty box feature is bad enough, at least the player will get credit if the party defeats Mord, getting kicked out of the instance with no way to rejoin the party in their instance results a total waste of time. As a result, no one in our party will be attempting this story step again until that portal is moved out of the active arena area.
