Hello.

I was the party leader of a fractal group today, and we had valantly fought our way to the last boss of the level, the Captain Mai Trin. We had done our job alright up until then, but the morale of the party was somewhat declining, after one or two of its members had been making postulations of the reasons behind their continuous demise. Accusing the rest of the group, they were claiming that it was not living up to their apparently high standard of playing. As the party leader, I felt it was my responsibility to tell how we were succeeding, and how helping each other kept moving us forward. This temporarily comforted the nobility, and we decided to jump the captain.

After two rounds of fighting, we were all lying on the ground again. This is when it happens: a vote is cast up by one of our noble party members, and is immediately accepted by his like-minded friend. Before I could act or respond, the idiocracy had spoken and the entire party was suddenly returned to the lab. The nobility decided to leave, and dragged the remaining members of the group down with them.

I would have liked to defeat that Captain. I would like to have tried with a few other party members instead. But I never got the chance to respond or act, and I feel at a loss.

This is surely a bug? The game does not adhere to ragequitters, does it? I keep telling myself it must be some strange oversight of the system.

I hope my experiences can help track down and fix the mechanics behind this unfortunate event. It would help us all – both the nobility of our players, who does not think the time of others are worth a dime, and us, the commoners, who simply want to have a good time with the precious time they have at hand.

Sad tale, but not a bug.

They instigated a vote to return to the lab via the exit icon above the mini map. The majority voted yes and you were transported out.

However it was a jerk move to reset the instance for all. The upset parties should have simply dropped party so those wishing to continue to do so with fresh members.

Okay, thanks for the sound answer. I believe I conceived the issue as a bug, when it’s actually an intended feature. It seems a bit unfortunate however that the result of this vote is irreversible for everyone, when it is taken in a situation that’s obviously heated, and probably taken with a great deal of irrational reasoning behind it as well.

It would have been nice if the players would be presented with an option to leave the party instead, giving the rest of us an opportunity to continue if we wanted to. Even if that means we’re the minority, since we’ve all invested time to get there.

I will try to bring this problem up in a more appropriate forum or thread.
