What bug are you referring to?

It’s worse than ever!!!
Happened 3 times in one PVP match yesterday on my elementalist! And its kinda hard to type /dance in the middle of a fight… And yes, I wasn’t immobilized, I was just stuck.
It happens randomly, must have something to do with knockbacks?
Is this ever going to be addressed?

I get this same bug all the time too, its simply annoying, and has caused me to die thousands of times. It happens in wvw, pve, pvp, fractals, everywhere. If I dodge my character model can’t move without dodging again. Its the 2nd worse bug I have ever seen in gw2.

It’s also exploitable by rangers. I have found at least three rangers who have explained to me that they exploit it all the time with knock backs and immobilize from ancient seeds on purpose. I even fund a ranger who actively killed me when i tried record the bug in a PVP match when every other player stopped fighting and told me to record it. When i asked the ranger why he did that, he said he didn’t want me to get the ranger nerfed.

This also happens often right after a dodge roll or a movement skill when you press other action keys at the same time.
I was able to consistently reproduce this by using an /bow then pressing dodge during the emote animation, it wastes endurance but the dodge doesnt happen and you are suddenly stuck there as if you are immobilized.

Also I tried recreating the bug by /bowing and then dodging like you said. 10 out of ten attempts, the bug did not proc. but it did cancel the dodge animation.

For me it appears to be in relation to dodging. When i dodge sometimes my character cannot move again. It seems resolved by using a teleport or movement skill or dodging again. In sPvP however using my endurance is a little frustrating just to be able to move.

It happens on all characters so seems to be related to the controls aspect not the character or skills. It is reset by a force interaction such as movement skill (leap/TP) or dodging. Simple movement doesnt work.

It could be anywhere from the controls not being released from the dodge action or the server itself not picking up player input after some dodges. Its an incredibly difficult one to first of all replicate and also test/bug. Out of interest i remember reading a thing about report’s also having attached or access to the last few bits of information sent along with the report… is it worth /bug ’ing these when it happens to help compile a list of information that can be searched for an answer?

Edit: I’ve also wondered if this is in relation to double tapping arrow keys that can simulate being held down? I’ve seen it in a few games where if i double tap opposite arrow keys it gives the game both left and right input’s constantly forcing a player to effectively stand still until one or both keys are double tapped again to release the input command.

I usually see it sometime after the Elementalist Fire Retreat skill number 4 staff skill
