When this happened to me, I closed the game client and restarted. That fixed it. Maybe I got lucky.

Same here, and with my bf and his brother living miles away. I have posted about this on their facebook. So far, the only common denominator we have been able to figure out is that we are all in the UK. We are currently on ts with some guildies from the rest of Europe and they have been ingame for a while now. One of them asked in map chat of LA if anyone else from the UK managed to make it ingame and did not receive any responses.

Bottom line is, I have been trying to download the patch since it hit, have restarted it twice in hopes of fixing it (did not work obviously), and it is still on one remaining file that is so far 154mb in size. My download speed on the client is not even close to what my actual internet speed is. I just would like some sort of recognition of this problem, or should I and others like me in the UK just give up entirely for today?

Well I guess it makes sense im from the UK as well

yah its bugged as hell ive restarted but nothing thinking maybe if i go for a full re download it might work but……….. that would take so long

My friend is also struggling and he’s from the UK. Meh. I guess we just have to sit tight and wait for a fix

Yup from the UK having the same issue..

In the UK, have been downloading the last file for over an hour, now. Can’t get more than 40 kb/s.

As the patch is only supposed to be 945mb, I stopped it at 1100, waiting on a fix.

Same issue 99% complete, 1 file remaining, even had some weird twitching thing happen to the launcher which goes away if I close and restart it, but happened twice so far, not sure if lookin at websites is causing it. UK also, BT provider.

In the UK also and having the same problem. Was stuck at 99% for ages, restarted and now I’m stuck at 0%.

My ISP is Virgin Media, so not just BT.

In the UK, stuck on last two files. Have closed the client now as it’s flickering and making my head unhappy (I have epilepsy so the strobe effect is not fun).

It had downloaded 1,103MB when I stopped. I was getting under 100kb/s for the last hour or so. Somewhere between 2-400 before that.

Having the same issue and in the UK. Closed client down and will leave for a while to see if that sorts it.

Virgin is cable, so it’s one of the few that doesn’t, generally. So, it’s not the ISP, it’s the client.

I am with Virgin, so is my bf and his brother. So no, it seems like something on their end and nothing to do with the service providers here. For now we have decided to just close the client as that one last file was approaching 300mb in size which is just ridiculous. We have given up for today, and have decided to play some other games instead as we no longer have much hope of this being fixed today.

I am the brother Nyx is speaking of and im stuck at 99% as well download was at 1234Mb before i stop i rather not have my computer filled with useless files thanks.

Just a heads up, mine has now fully downloaded after being stuck on 1 file for maybe an hour, just stick with it, I closed the lanuncher a couple of times when it started twitching out and saying conection errors, and then restarted, which does not lose any of your data, it continues to try and dl the last file, anyway just leave it run and read about all the other bugs while u wait, Im about to go in game but not sure I even want to, from what ive read there is a million bugs.

I closed the client to see if that helped but it restarted the last file so 200mb lost!

Add me to the list… stuck on the last file. The ‘weird glitching’ mentioned above is probably the ‘Connection Error Detected. Retrying….’ message which seems to be happening about every quarter of a second… It might just be peak time overload on the patch server handing too many requests.

For reference, VirginMedia (UK) 100Mb cable. Nothing wrong with the connectiion to any other web service.

I’ve having the same issue here in Scotland. I’m with Sky.

Was in for about half an hour until I switched zones to Mount Maelstrom. Stuck on loading screen for ages. Quit client, went to start again … and now I get the same as the people above. I’m on BT.

YaY Broken Patches

I’ve been updating since the minute the patch hit – the first 950 or so mb was fine, the next 300 went slowly. I noticed it flashing “connection errors” when my net is fine so I closed it, tried again, it got to 5mb, stopped completely, now it’s at 27mb with 20kb/s. Kind of annoying. I was doing stuff in WvW. (And funnily enough… UK. Sky.) Since I was kicked out of WvW straight away and thus had the update forced on me, you’d think that it would have completed by now… primetime or no.
