What the hell is this kitten? This has been around for quite some time now but last couple of days is just insane how many times I need to /dance in order to get out of stuck! Do u know how bad this is when fighting a hambow + being a bad typer aswel? I had it 4 times in 15mins already, FIX THIS ASAP FFS!

Has been here for MONTHS!
And I mostly get it on Thief. Loads of others have this aswel and the complaints are rising.
Maybe fix?

Was reported nearly 2 years ago, a dev responded that they are “working on pinning it down” and nothing was ever heard or done since.

Don’t expect it to ever be fixed.

It’s not TOO much of a pressing issue (for me at least, having to /dance to move again is pretty game breaking if you ask me!) but it’s annoying when the enemy begins an AOE attack and I can’t dodge roll out of the way. :\

That’s an entirely different issue. Under what circumstances does it occur?

I have seen that happen, where I’m pushing to go forward nothing happens, but if you also press q/e it will then let you move forward. But yes, that is a different issue from the getting stuck and unable to move at all.

Mostly I hear about the issue on ele and lightning flash. I have been playing thief a lot in wvw but don’t really have that happen (it may have something to do with how I play with not getting stuck often, idk, although I do use steal and shadowsteps of course. I think I’ve had to do an emote only 1-3 times in the past few months or so, although perhaps the times I was stuck I was also immobilized and dying too fast to react. The last time I had to do an emote was just a few days ago, though.

Guildee though has had to do it almost daily on his ele >.<

Told my duelling partner to stop hitting me, started shadowplay and captured it quickly.

There are no bugs in game, they are called Special Features so it wont need a fix.

I only see this issue when performing multiple key combinations or movement skills near / next to / against objects (ground protrusions, walls, etc.). During combat and trying jumping maneuvers near / next to them is also an issue. This is some sort of known hit-box/game object interaction that has been known since release and various bug threads indicate Anet is aware of it and has been unsuccessful at fixing it.

The bug is actually pretty easy to reproduce, and was brought up in the original thread. If you break a stun, knockdown/back or immobilize immediately after it’s applied to you, it’ll occur about 80-90% of the time. It happens a lot with sigils of generosity/purity if you have fast autoattacks and get hit with one right when attacking (why I don’t use them anymore), and I’ve had it happen a lot with Warrior’s Last Stand (also why I don’t use it anymore).

What they need to let us do is be able to keybind /dance. Because typing that out just takes too long. Hitting a key quickly to fix it would be fine by me. Obviously that isn’t ideal but it is much better than what we have.

You don’t have to wait for the emote animation to finish. Just type /dance and immediately you can move again.

This stupid bug happens almost every night to me. It’s been happening since the game came out.

I get something very similar when I use 100 Blades on a Warrior and stop the attack by moving and 40% of the time I freeze up and stop moving and attacking. Whirling Blades is the only fix I find (usually on cooldown though >_>).

The suddenly not able to move while trying to move bug has been in this game since RELEASE. Obviously they can’t fix it or don’t care, one of the two. It can be GAME BREAKING!

In pvp you get hammered down, you finally get to stand and can’t move and you think kitten , immobilized! But no, its this kitten movement bug!

You have to release your movement key (I use W for forward) in order for it to go away.

It could just be a coincidence, but this seems even more common to me when there is lag caused by server/internet issues. During the first week of LS season 2, Dry Top had some major lag problems, and I was getting stuck in place every few minutes when the lag was especially bad. I can’t think of any other time when I had experienced this bug so many times over a short period.

And, as mentioned above, this is fairly easily reproduced by breaking CC “too fast”. If you use a stunbreak right as the CC lands, you’re most likely going to be stuck until you do an emote. Using a movement/teleport skills also (usually) fixes it, as well as being hit with another CC.

This is also not the same issue as the movement key momentarily not working. No combination of movement key presses, releases, or re-presses will fix this issue. Having your movement key being temporarily unresponsive (till re-pressed) or having it stop you while still being held down (again, till re-pressed) is an entirely different issue.
