I had used one of my Birthday bonus items on my character that gives 100% magic find, glory, karma, and experience, and I had 22 hours left on it. I decided to play Super Adventure Box with my friend. We played for maybe 30 minutes and then we left. Once I came back into the normal world I noticed that I no longer had the birthday buff. I would really appreciate being reimbursed a birthday bonus since one of mine was completely wasted because of this.

tldr: DON’T PLAY SUPER ADVENTURE BOX WITH BIRTHDAY BONUS

Got same here.. got 13hours left of birthday boon and now after i played SAB i lost the boon and had to use another birthday boon from another character .. guys please fix this, it is a nice boon

Its not a bug, its intended.

what is intended in taking away your 24hours birthday boon ? You are not recieving back this boon when u exit the event

Why does it get removed? I understand removing speed, damage, armor, and regeneration boosters, but none of the bonuses from the birthday booster would give players an unfair advantage.

Really sucks. I had accidentally put on 2 birthday boosters yesterday (didn’t realize they actually stacked). Would have been OK but I went in late last night and lost about 45 hours worth of a birthday booster with no warning. GG

I know the answer to this (it’s a no) but I’ll ask anyway. Is there a support process to request getting the missing booster time back?

Entering SAB with the Birthday Booster WILL remove the buff. That is intended.

However, there definitely should be a warning prior to entering.

We’re looking into this now.

There is a warning. It tells you on the popup window all buffs will be removed. See attachment.

I do feel bad for the OP, but it does tell ya pretty clearly.

I saw the warning but i assumed it meant it just wouldnt be active while inside sab. pretty sick that if literally just erases it. thanks anet

Yes there is a warning when you enter the Instance INSIDE the Super Adventure Box but there is no warning when you enter through the portal in Rata Sum. That is the portal that takes away buffs.

I just confirmed it by eating food then entering the portal and leaving right away and my food buff were gone. No warning message or anything.

I also lost my Birthday gift to this bug. I went in and ran to the portal inside that said it would removes my buff if I entered and I said screw that I want to keep my birthday gift. Left and noticed it was gone.

Taking away the Birthday gift while inside SAB is one thing, but having it not return when you leave is just…cheap.

My birthday booster (with 20+ hours left on it) was also removed when I entered the hub. I saw the warning on the zone entries and left ‘cause I didn’t want to permanently lose the booster, but it was gone anyway once I exited to Rata Sum.

I get this warning every time I enter.

I think some have misunderstand what is actually going on. It gives you the warning when you enter the house that is inside the portal but not the portal that you enter from Rata Sum.

The Rata Sum portal is the one that removes the buff. By the time you get to the warning message, your buff have already been removed by entering the zone from Rata Sum.

Test it for yourself like me. Eat food > Enter portal in Rata Sum > Turn around and jump back out > All buffs gone. No warning messages.

Okey so i didnt noticed Warning about boon loss, but anyway Machinist said it is lost before warning message just when u enter the first portal. By the way it was a gift for 1 year aniversary and there was made something which took it away in an odd way, someone who is used to entering dungeons he just see Same As Usuall Message Enter Story Mode Level 1 and he just didn’t see a trap called u will lost all your boons even bought in gemstore……

My apologies I didn’t realize that. Well it’s been fixed, but its unfortunate for those that had to be the unwilling testers to get this fixed.

Any chance of getting the birthday booster back? I don’t mind losing my other buffs, they’re easily replaceable (even though I was using a wxp booster that I have to rebuy now) – the birthday booster, however, is a pretty hefty loss seeing as I’d only activated it a couple of hours prior to entering the SAB hub.

It gets removed in the lobby already. I lost 2 boosters today without warning. One was after a relog coz i crashed in WvW.
