Can we get an ETA for when the (6) bonus on the Superior Rune of Strength and the Superior Rune of Rage are going to be fixed? They’re exactly the runes I want to use for some of my builds, but the sixth bonuses do nothing, and haven’t for… months.

So I was just doing some research and after I use this rune for quiet some time I now had to find out the bonus does not even work -.-

But guess what, that seems not to be enough:

All those living story and other “useless” content but no major bugfixes?
And there is not even a statement…

I’ve listed these in the “Functionality” section of my Tracker – Living World/Game Update Bugs thread and linked it to your thread. Hopefully they can be looked at soon since we now have a really great dev taking care of the bug reporting community.

Functionality

  • Superior Rune of Rage: Set Bonus #6 Broken [ 1 , 2 , 3 , “Wiki” ]
Set Bonus #6 does not apply +5% crit damage when under Fury as it should. Player states weapon swap triggers it to proc.
  • Superior Rune of Strength: Set Bonus #6 Broken and #3 Typo [ 1 , 2 , “Wiki” ]
Set Bonus #6 does not apply +5% damage when under Might as it should. Also, Bonus #3 grants +50 power as it should despite tooltip stating +40 (typo)

Hey folks,

I’ll get the 6/6 bonuses on both of these rune sets looked at.

Thanks for the report.

Superior Rune of Strength – still broken… How long will take? More than 5 months now that this was reported here – https://forum-en.gw2archive.eu/forum/support/bugs/Rune-of-Strength-Bug

Yes, long live the “Living Story” content, let’s rejoice! Not really… I just get kicked from WvW because some krait non-sense. Very happy about that. Then I was so stupid to buy something without first searching. It’s my fault only. But then I found out that this is bugged since… who knows?

I’ll chime in here and add my frustration to the mix. If living story is taking precedence over basic bugfixes, then please change your priorities. Broken runes, broken slaying potions, etc. Saying “we’re looking into it” is great at first, but after 2, 4, 6+ months, it’s just lip service and insulting.

My guardian has been wearing 6 runes of strength for months, assuming that it’s about to be fixed. Hope springs eternal.

I actually refunded a recent gem purchase due to multiple bug frustration and lack of response. Please fix these things, and give me a reason to buy more.

Rune of Speed was bugged for 1 Year (140% Speed), instead of fixing it they just deleted it and made some other kind of rune

What I don’t understand is:

How can you have a software developer, that doesn’t test if the stuff he has programmed actually works? Or if that is not the case, he tests, but his tests environment is not the same as the release environment: How can you have an organization that doesn’t enable it’s developers to test that their code works in production. Etc, etc.

I really agree with the above posts, and have asked anet (in many bug reports) to ‘please fix the bugs and stop implementing new stuff until you have fixed the bugs’. Fix the bugs!

The editing widget in the in-game bug reporting dialogue is still bugged more than year after the release. I reported this multiple times during the first 6 months, but have stopped reporting it now. They probably think they fixed it. But no.

Idea for new living story: Find bugs and report them. When you have found 30 bugs and reported them you get a title/whatever.

I work in the QA department for a large company and while I realize Guild Wars 2 is a huge, huge program I find it appalling how many obvious easy-to-spot bugs enter the game and how long it takes to fix them. Fixing these three runes (including Perplexity) should be child’s play. If only there was a child around to fix them.

Funny thing is, that while (a) most of my friends have stopped playing GW2 for various reasons, (b) I have stuck with it because I enjoy the game, even as a single player RPG, (c ) I generally love the game and defend it against all comers, and (d) I’ve supported the game financially with purchased gems more than I hope my wife ever finds out about: I just finished putting together a Thief build based around Superior Runes of Rage, trusting the accuracy of the in-game descriptions of the equipment and skills involved. (I try to avoid aping the cookie-cutter build-of-the-month, so as to be original.) Now I learn that I probably shouldn’t have gone to the effort, or trusted the specs on the runes. This makes me sad. (My quaggan sad, too.)

I don’t have time to do even half the bi-weekly content additions. Perhaps, could some of those resources go toward bug fixes? Or at least updates to the tool tips to state that the (6) boon is no boon at all?

I’m even paying for these updates with my gem purchases!

I want to trust this game again. Thanks for your consideration.

What I don’t understand is:

How can you have a software developer, that doesn’t test if the stuff he has programmed actually works?

‘Works for me’

You’d be surprised how many developers in the real world know how to use that phrase.

You’d be surprised how few of them I respect. Stories I’ve heard about some of them have included boxes and pink slips after uttering those words.

Seriously tho, to the players, I have this to say:
Programmers are required to work where managers have them work, and sometimes that is not where the programmers like to work, and often it is not where support wants them working. Worse, lower management often has to assign resources where upper management requests it, and upper management can easily be at two removes from the gaming experience. Each of them have their own views of reality, and none of them get exactly what they want.

To dev: Unit Test. Words to live by. If its not unit testable, its not true OOP, and it is consequently prone to obscure, difficult bugs.

To Management: it takes a dozen good experiences to make up for one bad experience. Cutting out the bad experiences (ie: bugs) from the product will go a long way towards making a product everyone can enjoy to their fullest.
