Superior Rune of the Pirate 4 pieces
(4) 5% chance to shout “Yarr!” and grant might to nearby allies when hit.

I choose a event that I can stand there hitting the boss for 5 minutes and this effect never triggered.(Not shouting “Yarr!” and not getting might.)

Then I go to Lion’s Arch to attack the Practice Dummy for 10 minutes, and it didn’t triggered either.

I’m playing mesmer testing with greatsword, sword and sceptor.

This is worded wrong just like all the other runes that proc on hit.. it isnt you hitting a mob.. its you getting hit. Rune of rata sum is the same. all the runes that spawn a pet are the same.

It does proc on hit but you do not shout ‘Yarr!’ you shout ‘For great justice’

So after browsing the TP found a really cool set of runes and purchased 6/6 of them , however after extensive testing for a few days now, not once has the 4 set bonus
“5% chance to proc might buff to me and allies and shout Yarr!” with 10 sec cd ever worked.
Please fix its the main reason I bought this set

‘For great justice’ is the might, correct, but this rune says your supposed to yell ‘Yarr!’. So it’s not working as it is supposed to. However, he never came back to say whether might was being applied or not with the other emote. I’m going to assume he was looking at his buffs.

Bump still waiting for fix 21days later.
PS forgot to mention I’m staff welding ele, so no melee attacks at all.

I wore this set for a while and while I did, I kept hearing a man yell “For Great Justice” while soloing, but when I looked around for the warrior there never was one. I was playing a female elementalist, so I certainly wasn’t using that skill. After that happened a few dozen times I figured that proc must be going off, but playing the wrong audio clip.

Or maybe I’m just hearing voices.

OK, bit of an update to the last post:

I still had my pirate suit in my vault, so I dug it out, put it on, and went to a lowbie zone to let mobs beat on me where nobody else was around. The proc is definitely going off and I’m getting a might buff and hearing “For Great Justice” when it does. Only now, it’s actually a female voice, so that’s at least better. Or was I mis-remembering it being a mans voice before? Might be confusing it with my male warrior who yells it a lot.

At any rate, the proc is working (30 second of might and it stacks if it goes off again in time), it just doesn’t actually yell “Yarr!” which I agree is disappointing.

The major rune of the pirate ( exotic level 60 ) armor upgrades have a 4 peice bonus that chance on hit to yell Yarrr and give might to your team. Currently my Sylvari elementalist is saying " For great justice " instead.

I would be lying if I told you that the pirate sound yarr wasn’t the main reason I bought the set lol.

Can anyone address this ?

I’ve noticed that too – Sylvari Ranger, and she shouts “For Great Justice” instead of “Yarrr” (4th bonus on Superior runes of the pirate, so it affects both Major and Superior).

Same here with my Asura. I guess they just didn’t add any sounds for that yet, thats why they use some sounds that are already existent…?

It could also be due to a bug with the sounds. Each race has their own thing to say when they gain a boon/buff (such as the sylvari’s “FOR GREAT JUSTICE!”) Maybe the Yarr! wants to play, but the boon sound over wrights it. I know this game is rather full of sound bugs.

On the plus side I love the parrot that you summon when you get the full set

I got the major set for the Yarr! (and, of course, the stats) on my Sylvari Ele. I have yet to hear it, and I’ve been listening very, very hard lol.

I wasn’t aware I was getting a parrot thrown into the deal too. That’s almost more excitement than my leafy brain can handle!

The parrot is my new best friend in the game lol, but you need all 6 runes for that bonus.

You just have to take care with that parrot. He is very very aggressive. He doesn’t just attack enemies in a certain range like e.g. the elementals do. He seems to even travel half of the map (OK, a bit overdone but still near to reality), just to draw your enemies attention to you.

This can be quite annoying when traveling. But still i like the parrot. He is so colourful and not bad when it comes to dmg.

LOL yes I noticed he is aggressive he wants his cracker.

Personally I’m getting problems with both the Pirate rune set and the Citadel rune set.

Wish they would just comment on it, they merged the post into this one so I know they have read it lol.

I also get this problem with never yelling “Yarr,” and this also explains the male voice that my female elementalist sometimes hears.

You won’t hear “Yarr!” but you will get the Might boon.

Yes, please fix this! I was so excited to get the pirate set just for the “Yarr”, otherwise I’d have gone for the other MF set

i am a necromancer and i use the spell : Blood is power
which gives me Might for 14 and a half seconds. Now i also have my armor embedded with 4 x Major rune of the pirate , which is supposed to give me + 15% Might duration, but it is not working. I still get only 14 and a half seconds of might when i activate my spell. Any one else noticed this ? is there an explanation to this or is it a bug?

When wearing 4/6 Runes of the Pirate, you character does not yell ’’YARRRR’’ but instead shouts ’’For Great Justice!"

Very disturbing n very important!

That is happening to me to. I mean what pirate shouts “For Great Justice!”, it completly ruins it.
