it’s the first 3 damage numbers you see, not the first 3 attacks.

in other words, if you make an aoe attack that hits 5 mobs total, you will get 3 guaranteed crits on 3 mobs only.

Keep in mind that the critical change also applies to any in-effect AoE attacks, or ranged & non-instant attacks (bows for example). It is fully possible to drop a symbol or AoE attack and switch weapons to proc the sigil, and “lose” 1 or all of the critical hits to existing attacks.

Thread closed, tested it again and it seems I made a mistake. It works as intended, 3 attacks.
