My mace has a Superior Sigil of Renewal and my shield has a Superior Sigil of Energy, as well as my greatsword. When I switch to my greatsword while in combat, I gain 50% energy but I do not when I switch to my mace and shield.

I have tried the same shield with different main-hand weapons and I am able to gain energy successfully. I have also tried the mace + shield combo in the PvP lobby against golems and my energy also restores successfully, leading me to believe that this is a PvE problem specifically with that sigil + sigil combination.

To reiterate: A superior sigil of renewal on my mainhand and a superior sigil of energy on my offhand does not result in energy gain when swapped back to this set.

Yes. I’ve waited up to 15 seconds in my tests. Swapping in the same conditions has been successful in PvP and with different weapons in PvE, so I know it isn’t my timing.

Renewal and energy are both on swap sigils and will share the sigil cooldown with the mainhand activating first. Please don’t tell me someone at Anet is unaware of how sigils work…

What should I do? Can Anet send me a free Sigil of Renewal or that item kit that doesn’t destroy items that upgrades are removed from so I can hold on to it and use a different Sigil until the bug is fixed?

Unfortunately its not a bug (or at least, treated as one). This has always been the case. The best advice is to choose two compatible sigils (only one with a cooldown on a single weapon set) before hand (or, you could have two of the on crit sigils, which would increase the chance they work, but wouldn’t increase the effects).

It’s probably highly unlikely Anet will hand out any items to help you with this issue, but I guess its even more unlikely if you don’t ask. Since Sigils of Renewal are somewhat cheap, it should be too much of a loss to replace it with something else.
