I, too have the same problem. I don’t even recieve a buff after closing the portal. That occurs whereever I play. Even when I “Guested” myself on another Server nothing happened.
Please try to fix this,

Just got Daily Portal closer on my first map today (5 portals closed) with 30:38 left on the timer, and still no Swift Closer achievement! Can we get an update on whether this will be fixed?

This is bugged for me too :]. Can it be fixed soon? I hear some people have it though…

Hey ANet, I’ve done it multiple times, made sure to tag only scarlet minions portals, stayed until the end to get gold, tried also getting bronze b tagging many events…

Still nothing ! Today, got the daily portal closer way before the 15mn, but no swift closer achievement… It’s really getting on my nerves.

Please do something… and before September, for Dwayna’s sake !

Something is wrong in the kingdom of Kryta…

I got it without trying anything special or keeping track. it just showed up durring one of the events. I think it was the one map our server finally won against scarlet while I was there. (I think we have won before but I wasn’t there for one reason or another.) We stopped the invasion early.

I did this SO MANY TIMES and it never works. There is NO buff indicating a timer. Arena Net PLEASE fix this so I can get my achievement. Thank you!

Same for me too. I did so many times and there are no buff indicating any timer at all. I am pretty sure I closed more than 5 portals within 15mins and there is no achievement at all. Please fix this!

I am in the same boat. I’ve tried everything.

Firstoff, it’s picky enough as it is. I find I’m there for the entire event tagging basically everything and I’m still only getting silver contribution medals sometimes.
And yet in wvw, my usual domain, I tend to get credit for things I wasn’t even aware I participated in.

Anyway, I’ve been trying this every couple of days since the event began. Today I got credit for 7 portal closings, (5 gold contributions, 2 silver) in Lornar’s Pass before the timer hit 30 minutes left on the event and still no achievement. Generally it wouldn’t be the end of the world, but you need almost all of the achievements for the meta.

I got this without trying, but no matter how many times my wife and I race around the map closing portals— I lost count, but she should have had the achievement at least 5 times by now— she’s still not getting it. We focus solely on the twisted minion portals, and we get it well before the 15 minutes are up.

Is this “buff” visible to the player? Or is it an internal variable that we don’t actually see? And is it like a 15-minute buff that requires 5 stacks to complete the achievement, or what?

Same for me. I don’t understand it. My friends say it’s easy, and no matter on how many portals I close, it does’nt work for me. In 2 days the event will be over, so I hope this will be fixed in time.

Edit: It may have been mere luck, or I might have found the problem. This time I did get the achievement but I didn’t use waypoints to travel from one event to the other. Maybe it works for you guys too? Anyways, good luck!

Sigh… My wife suggested that, but I told her I wasn’t aware of any other buff that was removed by waypoint travel, so it was unlikely to be the case for this one. Perhaps we’ll try that tomorrow.

Okay, so we tried it without waypoints in Gendarran Fields, and it actually worked. Fifth portal closed after 9 minutes, though it wouldn’t have been easy to get to them quickly in a larger (or higher-level) map.

Coincidence? Maybe. Hard to say, really, but something to try.

Does steam portal counts? I have done 6 portals in 10 mins yet nothing. Please address this as it is the only thing im lacking for 17/17

My bf tried since the beginning of clockwork chaos to do this achievement, no buff ever pops up when he closes the portals. He gets gold award for completing these events, closes about 7-8 portal in the first 15 mins every time the invasion are up and still nothing…

Didn’t got the frostgorge invasion, too.
16/17 it’s so so sad.
I hope the event is going to be extended!
