Taidha's Gate: Beyond Legendary?
I remember that this was changed some time ago, and the gate went down much faster than before.
But when I did the event yesterday, it was back to how it was before: in the time that took us (like 50 players) to destroy the gate, Claw of Jormag spawned and died, and we still had to take down that stupid gate!
There’s really something broken about this event…
I try to tell people in /say during the event, but this gate is not like other gates which are affected by damage amounts, but merely by the amount of single attacks.
So if you are not already doing so, switch to your weapon with the shortest auto attack time and do NOT interrupt the auto attack unless it is to give quickness. Also, when I try attacks that hit multiple times (like ranger warhorn #4 ability with the birds) they hit for zero, so don’t bother with specials.
You will always hit for between 1-4 no matter what skills you use, so just stick to your fastest one.
(and yes, the kegs/bombs you can pick up do more damage but the amount of time it takes to go and get one and plant it, then wait for explosion, you would have done more damage in the auto attack during that time)
I believe the gate does now scale in health with the amount of players, sadly they did not also adjust scaling the health of Taida, so once its down you have about 1 minute (or less) to reach and kill her, at least that was my experience yesterday.
(fortunately I know where she ends, so I just run there directly from the gate going down, she had about 8% hp left…)

So … in the screenshot what happened to the galleon? That big group couldn’t defend the ship?
Obviously they really think, that letting the cannons sink the ship would be the right way to do this event. Sounds like fun though… ^^
There’s no fail condition. You can gain Powder Kegs if the Lion’s Arch ship is down.
Next time all of you should try to destroy the cannons instead of the gate. ^^
It takes some time (~ ten minutes), but it will finally work.

And devs, please rework how Taidha scales..
I would rather see this event spawn easier, the current system is annoying, and not worth the way for a something related to RNG spawns.
Oh, I forgot to mention that. In my opinion the pre events should trigger as soon as you have defeated the champ. ^^
