Guild Wars 2

Part of the Luminate’s Backplate collection requires a commendation for each gate (north/east/south/west) octovine kill. I’ve done a few successful runs now with the collection unlocked and nobody in my party or guild has ever seen one. They don’t seem like they should be a rare drop based on the item description, seems they may be bugged.

Hey there, just here to let you and support know that I have encountered the same issue. No northern commendation awarded for 2x succesful north lane completion.

Did the event twice.

North Gate: My map succesfully protected Tarir from the Mordrem assault and I got the North Gate Commendation from a special ‘bouncy box’ at the corner of my screen.

West Gate: We were able to bring down West and East but the other lanes were not succesfull. Did not get a special box with the West Gate Commendation, just the standard participation box.

So I assume that Tarir must be saved in order for you to get the commendation; not just a succesfull defense of your lane.

EDIT: Just did East Gate. We got North-East-South down but missed West just barely. No commendation, just regular ‘compensation prize loot’.

I’ve had succeeded the event about 3 or 4 times since unlocked the collection and haven’t got any of the Commendations so far.

Completed tarir meta, all sides were successful and DID NOT receive the commendation.

Same for me. Additionally I have not received the awards for killing the Tarnished Traitor, nor any of the champions at the outposts. Haven’t gotten the drop from mining with exalted gathering either. In fact, all I have been given credit for is earning silver on the adventure…

I have completed North and South Octovine events twice each on succeeding maps and haven’t gotten any commendations. I’ve gotten other items that are part of that collection, but not the Commendations themselves. Unless it’s not a guaranteed reward the first time you succeed then it is definitely bugged.

Alright commenting on this necro’d thread because I’m having the same problem and would just like to know if the commendations are in fact a very rare drop or has this thing been bugged for the entirety of the expansion. Haven’t received credit from Tarnished Traitor, either.
