Guild Wars 2

This achievement is currently impossible due to significant bugs preventing progress in lighting the torches. I have placed the tears in the pattern indicated on the stone statues face and replicated it below. Only one of the torches lit, despite me placing the second set of stones down after clearing off the first one.

This is the 5th time I’ve gone to this location after 5 separate server restarts. I am apparently not the only one trying to complete this.

This bug is replicable, just go try and do it right now and unless your on a low population server you’ll be unable to complete it unless you wait to be the first person after a restart.

This puzzle can be pretty buggy, but I did manage to complete the puzzle doin the following:

1. Make sure you do the LEFT cheek (from your perspective) first. Trying to do the right cheek first results in nothing happening.

2. If you’ve put all the Tears down in the right spots but nothing happens, try putting Tears onto ALL the platforms, then removing Tears until you get the right combination. (This worked for me twice when putting Tears in the correct locations failed to light the torch.)

3. If you get the bug where the patterns on one of the cheeks don’t show up, visit Youtube and search for “Tears of Itlaocol”. Apparently the solution for the puzzle is the same each time, so you can just follow the light patterns shown in the video to solve it.
