Guild Wars 2

I have never done the Tears puzzle so I went through the motions and arrived at the room with the stones and the pressure plates. I didn’t know from the start that it was bugged so I kept trying. When I arrived, 3 of the 4 torches were already lit and stones were arrayed on the plates already. I tried multiple times to get both patterns and I cannot get the 4th torch to light, despite matching the pattern on the right side. It appears someone else had come before me and got part of the way and either gave up like I’m about to, or bugged it.

What happened in this case is, that you were not actually missing the 4th but the 3rd combination. In some cases the left Symbol from the first round will still show, when the 3rd and 4th are added, so they are overlayed. Your best bet to solve this in any state is just to try all possible shapes (about 10 iirc). They can be found on the corresponding wiki page.
